Coming to an MBA college after working in the Corporate Sector(IT) for almost 4 years was an idea which seemed difficult for me yet I gathered my courage and decided to join a Business School which has been a dream for me during my college days. The day I arrived at the campus I was surprised to meet two of my engineering juniors who were already in 2nd year and one of my College senior too. The diversity here is amazing and so is the culture.

Within one week the bonding with the seniors and  MBA culture sunk in but the value of discipline and punctuality is still making its strides to add it to one of my strengths thanks to the discipline here be it, faculties or seniors. Magically everybody here is always on time be it talks , assignments or casual meets for discussions.

The three weeks I have spent here has been very short but the experience has been a revelation.

With a total strength of 720 highly intellectual brains all interacting with one another and the exchange of knowledge over cups of tea late at night usually around 2 pm and eventually waking up at 9 in the morning dressing up and running for the classes to reach before the professor reaches to avoid the door being bolted in your face even though you are an eye blink late is also a very effervescent memory.

I also stood for elections for the cultural representive post and the interview round was another humdinger a total opposite to what was being conducted in B-schools. Even though I was not selected for the post I didn’t have time to fret over it as the next competition mails had already arrived and  I had to start practising for the finals of the cultural event Xcapade along with the Sports Event SportsCom.

Life here is so busy sometimes I hope Earth somehow turns into Venus and I have ample amount of time to sleep. Lastly, I would be closing with the statement every senior  of mine had made,”This is the start and there’s more to come, so always be on your toes and perform because that’s what corporates hire you to do.”

Which ABG company I want to work for and why?

If I were to work in the third largest private sector conglomerate of India, i.e., Aditya Birla Group, and I had the choice of selection, I would choose to work in ‘Idea Cellular Limited’. With competitors in this market and the breakneck speed in innovation I feel this would be a tough challenge but a challenge worth taking and giving it your all. As the author, Martin Luther King, says in one of his works “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy”, I would be privileged to be a part of this revolution.
