The endless chants of going digital in all phases of life is turning to a reality across. Jio studios transported me into this world with their expertise in virtual reality, augmentation, content creation, celebrity management, brand management and the endless jargon's, defining the creative boutique that they are.
Having prior work experience as a social media specialist, was that golden arm for me throughout the internship that helped me add value to the firm and to see myself grow in the same space at the same time. My first week started off on a serious note, working for the PMO as elections were around the corner and the political buzz had to blend with the fizz. The next jump was to work on a completely contrasting client - Lakmé. To come up with a cause film for such a young brand. That was when this feeling started to fade in, that this roller coaster is going to take me across terrains and that I'm going to love each bump and the adrenaline rush throughout the journey.
Apart from working for big brands like Close-up, Hyundai, Go-pro, Eicher, Amul, Firefox, Vadilal, etc; we were allocated celebrities to whom we had to pitch social media marketing and branding. Now, this was like a blessing in disguise as it was something I had done earlier, loved to bits and was confident about. We managed to convert Cyrus Broacha a tv artist and stand up comedian and Kunal Vijayakar- a chef, comedian, director and an underdog in the space. I individually managed their accounts, pitched a weekly calendar, highlighting important days of the month with content that would suit them and trend on social networks. Interacting with celebrities on a daily basis in the likes of Boman Irani, Manushi Chillar, Milind Soman, Bosco Caesar started to be a norm as we closely worked with them and had become a part of their everyday lives. It just didn't end with those two months, even today I have the opportunity to suggest ideas for their social media and interact in the groups made with them and the icing on the cake is when they ask for your opinion in such cases.
The business touch was added when we sat there on beanbags racking our heads planning brand strategies, ideologies and further building concept notes, cracking briefs and constructing plots with endless cups of coffee. The advertising agency feel got us jamming together at dusk, with tight deadlines, handling client tantrums with a wrinkle free face and relaxing at night at the turf with a game of fuse ball or table tennis.
These two months were not just an internship experience, but it was an experience of a lifetime. What people wish for in their fantasy, was what came alive here. I cannot have asked for a better two months in terms of be it learning, on field experience, live projects that you work on right then right there and get a feedback for immediately, pitch and convert clients, build networks with people you've never imagined even seeing in real, working with the top minds across B-schools and most of all building a family in the two months, that will stay on for a lifetime.
Memories etched forever,
With stories that shall be forgotten never.
An experience that made place in my heart so clear.
Translated into a journey beyond forever...
