Here's all you need to know about the committees at MICA in the words of their senior team members.
MICA Leadership Series (MLS)
MICA LEADERSHIP SERIES (MLS), the guest lecture series at MICA, is dedicated to getting corporate leaders on campus to share their experiences, insights and vision with the students. A two-way learning process, it aims at giving students a chance to get thought provoking perspectives from the industry while the invited experts acquaint themselves with MICAns. MLS is an autonomous body that works in tandem with the other industry facing committees at MICA. This year it is trying to extend its relationship with the industry in the HR domain by holding the first HR Conclave on campus, thus strengthening brand MICA on the industry map.
“Being a part of MLS has given me a first-hand experience to interact with the industry experts. We do end to end planning of events throughout the year and my role is to design digital strategies and content. The committee gives immense networking opportunities to all its members. Being a part of the junior MLS was a great learning experience so I decided to stay with this committee in the senior year as well. It is truly a platform that inspires, from the leaders we aspire to be!”

Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC)
Ever since its inception, the MICA-EDC has been devoted to the objective of encouraging the concept of entrepreneurship in the communication sector. MICA-EDC aspires to offer business support services in order to nurture buzzing ideas that have the potential to bring about a change in this sector. Thus, in order to make this a reality, the MICA-EDC has set up a first-of-its-kind MICA Incubator(Communication Technology Based Business Incubator), an incubation centre specifically for the Strategic Marketing and Communication sector to commercialise and nurture ideas and innovations.
"As a student in the second year of my MBA, I think MICAEDC is one of the most exciting committees one can be a part of. Right before we are about to enter the corporate sector, we get to interact with the minds behind this same industry and I don't think there can be a better learning than that."

Sports Marketing Club (SMC)
Sports is about passion, passion for not only sportspersons but also of fans, team management and the owners of various teams. The advent of league culture and rise of fantasy leagues in India gave us the opportunity to start a committee which will cater to the needs of fans and help MICAn community to understand how the business of sports works. Thus Sports Marketing Club(SMC) at MICA was formed in 2012. At that time it was the first committee across all the business schools which catered specifically to the business and management of sports. SMC works to connect MICAns with the sport industry by bringing in various case studies and live projects.
"We had many firsts last year, one being fantasy leagues which saw high participation from students, we brought in live project for the first time, where students got a chance to work with major sports wear brands. This year we are planning to organize our own formal and informal event. The key objective for us is that students get more chance to understand sports business, more opportunities to leverage their understanding in the form of live projects/case study competitions and drive engagement in non sports playing students."

MICARE
MICARE is committed to cater to the daily needs of the students on the campus. Given the remoteness of the campus, we provide service to the student community by procuring FMCG items, medicines, stationary, small electrical equipment etc. Hence helping students and other committees to avoid the routine troubles and providing such products in times of contingency. The committee operates 24*7 and every member is available for the services that we provide.
"The amount of love one gets from being at this committee is immense and makes us want to be more innovative than ever. Not only that, we also learn how to handle a business right from procurement of materials, to marketing it and finally selling it. Right from the committee selection where we have to take part in a simulation to double the money, to everyday practice, each day provides us with some learning. We believe and work towards making life easier for the MICAn Community."
