What will you do if you get a chance to spend a day in the life of a student at IIM Udaipur?
Let me get you comfortable and tell you that it isn’t a very smooth ride. Life here at the campus might feel like a cutoff from the rest of the world if you are not comfortable. The number of sceneries might swindle one’s thought into comparing a tourist’s life with ours. Let me again comfort you by telling that these do help one making a balance between the hectic schedule in the campus. But, one has to try hard to achieve the same.
The mountain ranges surrounding the campus throw off vibes, which could be hard to find at most educational institutes. It is the academic rigour that complements the life of a student here at IIM Udaipur. In the words of a recent encounter with an auto driver, “I don’t know how one could study amidst all the scenery. I would be gazing at the beautiful mountains during the day and the peaceful skyline filled with the endless sea of stars at night.” But the beauty of the scenery is not everything that you would find here interesting. The people here are equally amazing. From the mess and hospitality team to the student community, everything here holds an aura of the historical city of Udaipur. The culture build here over the years nurtures a human mind in a way that it forces one to think beyond. Whether it’s the mind of a budding entrepreneur, or a corporate aspirant aiming for a multi-national corporation, the IIMU community helps one to reach both of these ends.
You would find here people ranging from art to technical background, everyone bringing their own experiences and contributing to the culture of the Institute. The focus given to academic rigour is one of the main factors that makes the Institute different from all others. The routine of a student is pretty much same like all other IIMs. It’s the people here that brings about the uniqueness that the campus holds. The entrepreneurial culture is one of the best here at the campus with a very competent team working day and night towards the betterment of the culture.
So, one can say that a day spent here would be too less to get the complete beauty of the culture of IIM Udaipur. It’s a long journey worthy enough for the precious two years of your life. So what are U waiting for?
ABG Company that I would like to work with -
The two companies that incite my interest in ABG are the fashion and retail sector. Having spent my internship with a fashion company, I would like to further explore the possibilities in the FMCG retail sector belonging to ‘Aditya Birla Retail Limited’. I would like to work in the same for two reasons. Primarily, as I have already worked in a fashion retail industry, I would like to continue to gain experience in the retail sector as fashion is not something I look myself working my way into. It's one of the exciting sectors and working under a company like Aditya Birla Group would surely help me to understand the market better. Subsequently, it will enable me to apply the learnings for the betterment of the company processes in any way possible.
