MDI was established in 1973 by Industrial Finance Corporation of India in Gurgaon, its spread over 40 acres. Furthermore, MDI has world class infrastructure with air-conditioned classrooms, state-of-the-art Library, hostel, recreation areas like golf course, floodlit badminton, tennis and basketball courts. It has been a month since I joined MDI in the PGPM course and I feel proud to be a student of one of the top B-schools in India.

It has been a month since I joined the PGPM course and I am loving it here. Professors at MDI are the best in the country and the course pedagogy is designed as per Industry standards comprising. For me, MDI is not just a B-School but it will be my family for life.
So it started with a man who wanted to start a journey to become a gentleman, entering a B-school with high dreams and aspirations, or was it?
There is only one difference between a long life and a good dinner: that, in the dinner, the sweets come last.
I was coming straight from the under graduation college, where all of us used to study the same subjects, competing with each other and try to be the best. When I started my MBA it was a totally different way of learning. In our induction program, we were given a case study in groups, it was a different yet great experience. We all studied the case independently and then discussed it in the group while discussing in the group I was astonished to see how many different interpretations can be there of the same very reading. Then we made a presentation, when you are performing in a group you have a specialist for everything and when everyone performs in his or her respective strengths the end result as a group is really great.
B Schools can be intimidating at the first glance. In the early days, all one gets to hear is that the first few months are going to be really hectic and time for one’s personal interests and hobbies is a distant dream. You wake up early, attend lectures, go for sessions and before you know, the day is already over. It is amongst this fervent atmosphere that I heard about an event in MDI called MPL, which out of the blue asked us to participate in cricket and have fun. I joined it with full enthusiasm and what followed was more than just fun. It was actually the integration of oneself with the institution in true sense.
I joined MDI Gurgaon on June 14, 2018. It was a new place, with a different vibe. I was feeling proud of myself for joining such a respected institution, thinking that my life will be smooth sailing from now on… I couldn’t have been more wrong! Starting 15th we had the Induction Week, which I thought would be very easy going in the beginning, but soon realised that it was quite the opposite. It included many different corporate sessions, late night sessions with seniors, introductory sessions with faculty, etc. Coming from a relaxed IT job I felt as if there was no time to breathe. Three-hour sleep became a normal habit, and I learnt to prioritise work over food.
