The housing facilities are situated in Khelgaon amidst the scenic beauty of Ranchi where each student gets to realize a long harbored dream of having a single occupancy room. The door to the balconies open a door to another world, a world where you get the chance to reflect, retrospect and introspect while the voices of the children playing in the ground below are like sweet symphonies that warm your heart. At any point in the day or night, you can travel down a flight of stairs to reach the cafeteria where varieties of noodles add flavor to your life.

All the members of IIM Ranchi family came together on 15th August, 2016 to celebrate 70 years of Independence of our beloved nation. All the students gathered at Suchna Bhawan for the flag hoisting ceremony. Students in crisp traditional dresses carrying the national flag, patriotic music in the background, beautifully decorated podium and serene weather in Ranchi only added to the day’s charm. The ceremony begun as our Director-in-charge, Dr. Anindya Sen and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Brigadier V.S. Saini unfurled the national flag, followed by the National Anthem.

It was time, Amit updated the group chat about guests being on their way from the Board Room to Seminar Hall.  I had exactly two minutes to start the session. Manuj was signaling from the backstage to begin. Suddenly, air around me felt so cold that my hands started trembling. I felt weak. I was already on the podium; turning back at this point could create a huge complication in overall management. I threw a glance at audience. There were many familiar faces, in fact most of them. Closed my eyes, the audience was gone for the time being. Instead I could see it all moving in front of my eyes. 3 months ago, when we had our first planning meeting, felt like yesterday. Some movement in the hall brought me back to my senses. Now the empty front row seats were full of guests. I felt weaker. My mouth went dry. I turned back towards the small backstage opening for some water. All I could see was one heavy body holding a bouquet and making some gestures.
