The First 90 Days Of MBA

The First 90 Days Of MBA

My colloquy with MBA started very early. I was fascinated by how businesses work and how they form the backbone of any economy. This fascination and curiosity pulled me to the doorstep of IIM Rohtak. Jittery, palpitation and exhilaration describes the way I felt the first time I stepped into the sprawling 200 acre campus of Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak.

The Journey To Becoming A Sports Enthusiast At XIMB

The Journey To Becoming A Sports Enthusiast At XIMB

Apart from the few games we played during our school days like running, kho-kho, three-legged race, etc., I had never played any kind of sports. I was more of a bookworm. Though I liked watching sports such as cricket, badminton, basketball, etc, I never really played sports. But who would have thought that a person like me could ever play sports or even win one of the rounds? X-sports the annual inter-section tournament held by Sportscom, the sports committee of XIMB brought a turning point in my life. Being the first inter-section event, it instilled a feeling of enthusiasm and motivated participants to get to know each other better. Also, there was a rule that if girls won in any category, their section would get extra brownie points. This made the entire class come and practice together. Boys were seen teaching the tricks in cricket to girls.

ONAM – The Festival Of India - SPJIMR Mumbai

“Thithi Thara thithi thai thithai thaka thei thei thom", the Kerala boat race chants that chorused through the auditorium from a crowd of 300, dressed in ethnic Kerala saree and mundu; the thrill that I experienced while facing them was the best amongst the Onam celebrations I had all these years.

How To Stick Around At Your B-School And Make The Most Of It?

How To Stick Around At Your B-School And Make The Most Of It?

It is one of those times when most of the first year students in the premier b-schools of our country are perpetually high of sleep deprivation and are trying to find a meaning of what is happening to them. And it won't be an exaggeration if I say that few are contemplating about leaving the b-school and going back to their work life, which, for the most, was far easier than life at a b-school. The quest for being the best or rather getting the best (company) is on a high among the over-achievers, and a few like me, are concerned about somehow ending up with an internship. It's the beginning of a long race from places like Jamshedpur, Lucknow, Kozhikode etc., to places like Seoul, Amsterdam, NYC or Tokyo, and no one wants to be the last. If you ask me about my experience, I feel like I am living Dante Alighieri's 'Divine Comedy' in reverse. The end-term is the 'Paradiso', the few days between the SIPs and end-term would be the 'Purgatorio' and the SIPs would definitely be the 'Inferno'.

Hostel Life At IIM Ranchi : A Realm Of Fret And Frenzy

Hostel Life At IIM Ranchi : A Realm Of Fret And Frenzy

There was a bevvy of guys standing in line trying to do a ramp walk in a cramped corridor. While some were looking at them screaming with laughter and giving them some even crazier ideas, there were others who were lost in the world of music, listening to their favorite playlist on their phones. Another bunch of sleepyheads were drowsing away completely oblivious to the pandemonium around. And then there were those savants trying to read a case study or an article not at all discouraged by the veritable bedlam around them. For those of you wondering what exactly I am trying to describe, let me clear the confusion – I am recounting how the bus ride from Suchana Bhawan to Khelgaon is like once the classes get over. It is a journey where creativity touches the pinnacles as new games are invented to while away the time and where bonds are strengthened as we get to know more about each other during this madness.

TISS - My Second Home

My connection with TISS is a bit older than any of my classmates here in TISS HRM &LR. I had appeared for TISSNET 2017 and came to the Mumbai campus for GD and PI in March 2017.

'U', Udaipur, Unique And You

‘U’ is the best thing that has ever happened to me. ‘U’ is unique in its own way. ‘U’ is the place which is my home for two years. The place where I travelled in June, 2017 is now what I call is my 2nd home. It’s has been a year staying in this one of the biggest IIM campuses and yet I still remember the feeling which I was struck with the sight of the beautiful campus of ‘U’. IIM Udaipur is surrounded by hills, the campus itself is on the hill.
