I don’t think that there will be many people in India who can say that Aditya Birla Group have not touched their lives. I knew from the beginning that Ultratech Cement and Idea was an Aditya Birla Group product but I was surprised when my brother told me that the Peter England shirt that I was wearing was actually an Aditya Birla Group product, as I used to think that it was some England based company. So I started researching about the products of Aditya Birla Group and came to realise that a considerable part of the commercials that I have been seeing ever since my childhood that includes Pantaloons, Allen Solly, Louis Philippe, Peter England and Van Heusen they all come under the same brand umbrella, that is Aditya Birla Group.

Unshackled by Aditya Birla group

It was a Friday morning. Many people woke up with the enthusiasm that they only had to get through the day for their weekend to begin, but not me. I was nervous. I had to present the idea of my initiative to my manager and get his approval. The initiative was to bypass a significant unwanted block in an algorithm which could save about an hour each time the process was done. The idea was foolproof. It would be a boon for the team. They would get to spend one extra hour in the real world if the initiative went through.  Even when the initiative had its benefits, convincing my manager takes more than that. He was the kind of guy who was happy with things the way they were. He was not easily susceptible to change.

I vividly remember the time when my mother used to pack food in aluminium foils for school, which were manufactured by Aditya Birla Group, which I wasn’t even aware of. In my life of 23 years, I have unknowingly used Aditya Birla Group brands multiple times. The first time I came to know about Aditya Birla Group was through the advertisements of Idea on television. The advertisements of Idea are still one of the most memorable. It was during my school farewell when I forced my parents to buy me Louis Philippe suit for my farewell, I realized the scale at which Aditya Birla Group is operating.  My perception towards brands like Louis Philippe was that they were worn by business executives and having seen my father wearing shirts from Louis Philippe, I also wanted to wear that. Whether one realizes or not, every Indian has definitely used Aditya Birla Group products in some direct or indirect way. The Aditya Birla Group also indirectly impacts not only my life but thousands of others by taking measures to improve our society and country and making it a better place for all of us to live. Its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in healthcare, education, infrastructure and its endeavour in making model villages are indeed making our society better. The Group is also acting responsible towards its actions which will impact the future generations and has thus rightly taken Sustainability into account.

Life, in a nutshell, is the reflection of how and what we have achieved and how humble we are when it comes to expressing our triumphs. As a kid, belonging to a middle class family, I was asked always to dream bigger and never stop believing that anything is possible. So when it came to converting his dream house into reality, my father put in all his efforts into making it happen. He wanted me to witness the same and hence I accompanied him to the construction site almost every day.  Although I had a vague idea about what stuff went into construction of houses, I did notice the name of the cement that was being used. Ultratech cement, that belonged to the Aditya Birla Group, then, became one of the reasons for the transformation my dad’s dream into reality.
