A kids definition of a Conglomerate - Aditya Birla Group
As a kid, I always tried to read everything and anything I could. I was the kid who read labels on each product lying around the house or when shopping in the market. That has been a peculiar habit of mine that I have always carried around me through my life. As a kid, I could hardly wrap my head around ideas like brands, entities, or companies, but I pretty much could identify or distinguish products depending on their logos and names. Reading these simple things always bought a tiny bit of joy and curiosity.

When we hear Aditya Birla Group, the very first thing that comes to our mind is an empire that spans across various domains and touches lives in a way that we ourselves do not even realise. ABG has laid down the foundations for the Indian Industrial Revolution and has contributed to the Indian Economy for more than a century and aims to serve the nation for centuries to come.

How ABG got me into IIM Udaipur?
Like all the CAT aspirants, I was also the one dreaming to be a part of a B-school coveted by all. My interview for the new IIMs was scheduled in Mumbai. I worked in Pune at that time, so I reached Mumbai a day before my dreaded interview and spent the night at my sister's house. The location of the interview was at Dadar (possibly the least populated locality of Mumbai) and my plan of commute was to catch a local from Navi Mumbai to Dadar. For those of you who've never been to Mumbai, I was up for one roller coaster ride. Back at my sister's place, I spent the night imagining the scenarios of my upcoming interview.

When did rural families of our country start moving in their pucca houses? Since I lived in a rural area of Bihar, I would say it started in the early years of this century. I had seen that when I was growing up. Impact of Globalization had finally reached the villages.

The Aditya Birla Group has been a huge contributor to the Indian economy even before the nation gained independence from the British Empire. The conglomerate has been in existence since 1857 when the struggle for independence was running rife in the country.

Aditya Birla Group is premium conglomerate that clearly focuses on every business. Spread through major sectors like – Cement, telecommunications, textile, Chemicals, financial services, garments, etc . Being a shopaholic and brand loyal person, I mainly used to go and shop from Forever21, Louis Phillipe, Pantaloons these are one of my favorite brands because of variety and reasonable prices. During my graduation I purchased car by taking financial loan from Aditya Birla Group at competitive interest rate. I got an opportunity to intern with the Vodafone Idea Limited during my Summer Internship project which gave me lifetime experience. As Vodafone Idea is a merged entity, both the organizations were following different work culture and after getting merged the employees have adapted to the new environment and they are constantly trying to make the work culture as smooth as it can be. While talking to my colleagues I observed that they have the urge to make the merged entity, a better place to work. During my internship I went to home, renovation was going on at my home. Randomly my dad asked me which cement we should use suggest me, I told him Ultratech cement because of the creative advertisements I was able to retain it and got suggested about the same brand when asked for suggestions from my peers. This helps me not only improve the brand image but also parallelly the overall image of ABG. If any new product or brand is launched by ABG I could trust the product easily. During my graduation I was an introvert person and had very shy personality, I did not like to interact with many friends due to this weakness I was not able to crack an interview of my dream college. After that I joined Confident You, training in my hometown which helped me to work out on this weakness. They gave me position of responsibility which made me feel confident in front of crowd and now I ‘m an extrovert person and love to interact with the people and perusing MBA in Human Resources. During graduation I want to be part of handball team even I did not know how to play that. I worked so hard and started practicing day and night to be part of hand ball team of my college. Test matches were there after every four days for the selection of the players. Even my exams were near I did not bother, my main passion at that time to be part of team and I got selected in team. I was perusing masters in BIOPHYSICS and had completed my first year after that I gave CAT and got selected in IMI College, so I was in dilemma whether to continue with masters in BIOPHYSICS or take admission in IMI college. It was challenge for me to take decision whether to leave the existing course or to opt new phase of life which is totally different with my graduation degree. So I chose to go for IMI college. #IMINewDelhi #ABGLPWooMe
