Rejuvenating my memories-SCMHRD:

Rejuvenating my memories-SCMHRD:

Life is a topsy-turvy journey without any second thought. Every day has its own story to express and narrate. But seldom memory remembers all of those. But there is a catch , if that story is attached with emotions then our memory hardly forgets. I would like to share one of those stories which is very close to my heart.

Fighting the inner fiend- SCMHRD

Fighting the inner fiend- SCMHRD

Challenges are multifaceted and based on each one’s perceptions. An introvert’s challenge might be child’s play for an extrovert. Born as a girl child to parents expecting a boy was tricky because even though they cherish my presence in their lives, I had to prove to my extended family that a girl child can be equal or even better than a boy child.  I kept pushing myself to be like any other man in my life. I became tough emotionally, joined Karate classes, had a rigid personality, hated the colour pink and barely displayed emotions. All these actions in a vain attempt to show the world I can walk shoulder to shoulder with men. I failed to see that I didn’t have to adopt the stereotypical characteristics of a boy to prove my mettle. My challenges had changed with this realization. I had to get rid of this toxic mentality. It is more difficult to unlearn than learn. A glass I had to empty before I could fill it back with my purest thoughts and soul. It was tough to lose that image and project a different person. I started with empathy which came to me the easiest. I liked to listen to people. In this way, I would aid them as I could understand their perspectives and the hurdles they faced. Sensitivity towards people and situations helped me a lot in life. Patience truly is a virtue and I was running low on it as I found myself running back to the old ways. Displaying emotions was the next stumbling block. I learnt it from the best of the crowd- kids. Their fearless display of emotions melted my heart. The sound of giggling of a child could take away sorrows. I learnt to smile more often and take pleasure in the tiniest moments in life. Challenging oneself, fighting your own thoughts, has made me who I am today. It has helped me find my call in Human Resource Management and fight tooth and nail to be in the process of being a successful HR Manager.

Aditya Birla Group, with you at every stage of life. - SCMHRD, Pune

The first things that come to my mind when I hear about Aditya Birla Group are trust and diversity in sense of the products and services. From the establishment of GM Birla company in 1911, to the formation of such a huge conglomerate “Aditya Birla Group” the journey has been nothing less than interesting and challenging. These challenges included planning a new venture, acquiring firms, getting in or out of the business and many more but the one thing that kept them going as a group was strong vision and will to do something better and today “Aditya Birla Group” is the first name that arises among the Indian conglomerates that have made big in the world. So many activities in our day-to-day life have the presence of “Aditya Birla Group” like easily connecting with family members and friends with their Vodafone Idea Telecommunication services; formals are an integral part of dressing and here I feel connected to “Aditya Birla Group” by pantaloons, Allen Soly, Van Heusen etc. by ABFRL (Aditya Birla Fashion Retail limited). Apart from this I would also recognise its significant contribution to the glass and back covers we use for our mobile which are made from Carbon and “Aditya Birla Group” collectively is the largest producer of Carbon in the world. Of course how can we forget the cement sector, my house and many of others in India as well outside India are built from Ultratech Cement and Birla Copper. “Aditya Birla Group” is not just about earning and placating stakeholders they understand their responsibility towards the society by Corporate Social Responsibility activities; As a part of CSR activities they run schools, hospitals, self-help groups, creating about 300+ modal villages etc. It can be said that “Aditya Birla Group” is truly global as the CSR activities is not only limited to India but other countries as well like Egypt, Philippines, Thailand and USA as well.

How Aditya Birla has impacted me in my life and my biggest challenge in life. IIM Raipur

It was 10:15 at night, on the 30th of June 2019, as I rushed through the streets of Raipur, phone in hand, trying to reach City Centre Mall. I had just heard the news that, the very next morning, we had to attend a lecture from an eminent industry stalwart at IIM Raipur. It was someone I had long admired and was really looking forward to hear. However, I had just learnt about the impecable dress code. The problem: We didn’t have the jet black suit that was part of the attire.

The Story of My Life: An ABG Perspective - SCMHRD

Aditya Birla Group is involved in variety of products. It can be as microscopic as carbon nanoparticles in your tyre or something as big as a high-rise architecture built using UltraTech Cement, it can be something that you wear or something that you use to talk through your mobile phone, or even just make it safe. But the amazing thing is that you never get to feel its presence and it keeps on making big changes in your life by small contributions.
