ABG- Impacting Lives, Driving Growth- Ravit Chawla, MDI Gurgaon
Strolling down the various malls like Ambience, Gurgaon and DLF Mall of India, Noida. I can’t help but be grateful for being born in a country like India. A country still young compared to its peers and made possible due to the sacrifices made by our forefathers. Looking across the allay I see an outlet of Pantaloons, which makes me realise that the sacrifices where made by people across the economic spectrum. Traditional business houses did play a vital part in the movement and have also taken an active part in nation building.
ABG - Big Brand, Big Value
Brands are an integral part of our lives. Every average individual comes across numerous brands in their daily lives. We get exposed to several names, but there are only a few which stay back with us. We hold them back in our minds and these names are the ones which come to our minds when we think of these products or services. That is the impact of Brands. Aditya Birla is one name among the Indian Conglomerates that every Indian is deeply associated with. Not just India, it has made a huge position in the global space. Being Big is not something which comes just by numbers, it is something which you earn. The Aditya Birla Group has not just made itself large globally, but has touched several lives, including mine. ABG is a symbol of trust, which we all Indians look upto with pride.
Life is unfair and that is what makes it fair | Darsh Sheth, MDI Gurgaon
I would like to begin with asking a simple question, what is a challenge? If you are a good dancer then even difficult steps seem easy for you and if you don’t even know how to shake a leg, then even simple steps might seem as a huge challenge. So basically, challenge is anything which forces you to shift out of your comfort zone and do what you have never done and think something out of the box to arrive at a solution. My life has been basically a continuous roller coaster ride. When I was 4 years old, I started developing inflammation on my face to an extent that I had severe reddishness on my face and was simply bullied in school. Still that didn’t deter my confidence as I kept on achieving success during my schooling days. Finally, when I turned 13, doctors were able to diagnose that I have IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disorder) a not so common condition for a child at the age of 13. During that time, I turned so weak and fragile to an extent that I couldn’t walk. I was advised by doctors to skip my exams but something struck me and I said that no I am giving them but with no strength at all, I devised a way in which my mother used to read the subjects and I used to just listen them lying down and somehow I cleared the exams with good grades. As a 13 year old I always had that question why me? But as I progressed and grew up, I realised that okay this is what I have, and I must deal with it. I decided to become a doctor with just the intent of making a difference knowing fully well that the odds are stacked up against me and no one would believe in me. But I had to make a choice rather take the easy path and regret my whole life or choose what I desire, and rest just leave it on the almighty. I know fully well that I would never be a 100% and always have to be content with 90% health and on off days may be 85% but I do back myself that even at 85% I will produce a better result then any 100% has to offer. Right now after successfully becoming a doctor, I am pursuing MBA because I plan to bring about an effective change in the lives of people in a systemic way and even if I am able to touch upon and make a difference in 2-3 lives it would mean a lot to me. Because you cannot expect everything in life to be fair so just make the most out of what you have.
My Internship Experience at Cognizant Business Consulting - Kaushik Bhattacharjee, XIMB
From the very first day when I joined XIMB, the thought of getting a good internship that would give me an exposure to the corporate management world was something always there back in my mind. I was fortunate enough that I got selected by Cognizant Business Consulting to join their workforce as a business associate intern. I had never thought that the internship would be a life-changing experience for me. The entire journey has been an enriching learning experience and when I look back now, those two months have shaped my life both personally as well as professionally.

ABG-First to create uniqueness
Opportunities rarely come at your doorstep but when it comes we need to maintain composure and grab it all. After completion of my engineering I got an opportunity to work in EXL Service as business analyst. The work of a business analyst involves a lot of analytical and technical skills and as a metallurgical engineer I had no prior computing sills but I mustered the courage to gain that knowledge in stipulated amount of time as I knew my work there as a business analyst would definitely get me into shape of becoming a consultant in the future. After few days of my training I was allotted a major project of my client. As a fresher my manager who was at client location in UK doubted whether I would be able to go on with the project till its very end but I never doubted myself. I somehow convinced my manager that I am right person for the project will be able to see the project through. During the initial days of the project I found a lot of difficulties as me and my manager were the only people who were involved in the project and both of us didn’t have any idea about the data. I also have a tendency to overthink about situations and get stuck in it. I waste half of my time pondering about the various alternatives and lose focus of the main track. While given multiple tasks, I sometimes get swayed away from my current work and before completing it, start analysing about other tasks. Though it helps in certain situations but works the other way around in some other situations. In this particular project I somehow maintained my composure.
