Why so Focussed??-TAPMI

Why so Focussed??-TAPMI

Once I went for trekking in Kerala. I had thought that it would be a cakewalk for me to climb the peak and in a short period of time, I would enjoy the magnanimous view from the hilltop which everyone talks about. But, as soon as I started climbing, I realised that it was not going to be an easy task. But, I was extremely determined to see the view from the top and all I was imagining was how good this view would be. After about 20 minutes, I became extremely tired and was sweating heavily. I was not even able to put my leg forward. But my determination and focus towards the hilltop were still unshaken. So, with all my might, I started climbing the mountain again and finally reached the peak. The view was good but I felt that I might have missed something.

Friend or Foe? - TAPMI

Friend or Foe? - TAPMI

As a person, I am calm, patient, friendly and have a 1000 friends who aren't just random people but those who are well known to me. With high patience levels, I could tolerate anything done against me. Even for a person who isn't a friend, I would go to great lengths if they needed help. And if that's for a friend, then it would be much more effort.

Touching lives and beyond - TAPMI

From my mother packing my lunch in freshwrapp so that it remains fresh and tasty even after hours to me toasting sandwiches on the foil with an iron inside my hostel room, from my father buying his formal suits from Peter England, to me buying my first MBA suit from Van Heusen, Aditya Birla Group and its brands have touched all the aspects of my life. I still remember when for the first time Pantaloons was opened in my home town, there was so much craze among people about the various stylish clothes and jewellery present there. Even today when I go back to my hometown, I know where I will get my kind of dresses with a lot of variety. Likewise, Aditya Birla Group touches millions of lives all over the world every day. And it is not just the urban population, the rural population is equally reached out by the group by their contribution to various government schemes like Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, MGNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Rural Livelihood Mission and many more. They keep giving back to the society through their CSR activities. It makes its equal share of contribution to the environment by helping in the Renewable Energy Development Program. The conglomerate is contributing towards the economy of India by helping start-ups through its Bizlabs program that helps the start-ups them gain access to market and customers so that they can grow at a faster rate. They also provide venture capitals and investment to the start-ups to incubate them. #TAPMI #ABGLPWooMe

Overcoming Challenges – TAPMI

Overcoming Challenges – TAPMI

Challenges make life interesting and overcoming them makes life meaningful. Without challenges, life is like a smooth sea. A smooth sea never makes a good sailor, whereas a rough sea brings out the talent in a person and helps to become a skilful sailor.

Fighting PCOS .

Fighting PCOS .

In my late teens I got detected with insulin based PCOS which is basically a condition in which girls miss or get irregular menstrual cycles. It’s a heredity condition which prevails in the daughters of diabetic mothers, especially if the mother had diabetes during her pregnancy, which was the case with me too. As a result of this condition I started gaining a lot of weight and acne marks had started appearing on my face which was certainly a worst nightmare for me. Being a teenager, I was immature and always wanted to keep up with society’s standards of beauty. As a result of which I had started losing my confidence to the extent that I avoided stepping out of the house.

The joy of overcoming tough challenges - TAPMI

The joy of overcoming tough challenges - TAPMI

Overcoming challenges and getting a tough job done is a lot more satisfying than a job done easily. Like most others, challenges have been an integral part of my life right since childhood. Because of my father’s transferrable job, the fact that I had to change schools almost every two years from a very young age and adjust to the new settings with everything and everyone unknown including new classmates and teachers presented a tough situation every now and then. However, the fact that I was exposed to such situations and was able to overcome them successfully from such an early age made me adaptable and made me confident to tackle such hurdles in future as well. This was followed by my college life where I was away from home for the first time and had to take care of not only my academics but also my day to day activities for the first time. Also, there were several specific competitions during that time in which I participated to challenge myself even after being aware that there are others who have much better relevant skill-set than I possess for that event. The next big challenge in my life was to work in a core engineering/construction company after my graduation where I had to interact with so many different kinds of people at remote project sites. The task of supervising the sub-contractors and their workers to complete the work done within the tight customer deadlines made me nervous initially. However, after sometime, I overcame the challenge and started enjoying the sense of responsibility. Finally, after 3 years of work experience, the decision of leaving my job with good growth prospects both in the short and long run and deciding to pursue my dream of doing an MBA was not easy. The process of transforming from a company employee to a student once again was another challenge which I could overcome successfully to get the opportunity to pursue my MBA from a reputed B-School.
