Born to an engineer father, I faintly had an idea of what engineering and companies are, till I reached my puberty. But let me tell you, this isn't just a regular engineer in the making story, which compels me to write this story all over again.

This tradition has been successfully carried forward by Aditya Birla Group and are continuing to impact our lives a lot with its vast range of products and services.
The first thing that hits me up when I hear the words ADITYA BIRLA GROUP (ABG) is fashion and that too formal wears in particular. Brands like Peter England, Allen Solly, Louis Philippe and Van Heusen find a special place in my heart as well as in my cupboard since the time I started preparing for the internship placements during the third year of my engineering. This was the first time I ever bought formal wears and the brand which earmarked this new beginning was Peter England. I don’t know whether it was the comfort or the professional look that I had adopted which inflicted me with great courage and self-confidence to face the interview process and sail through it.
Aditya Birla Group is one of the leading companies in the world with wide range of products and services and is not only limited to people from premium segment but also has a huge influence on different sections of the society. The first thing that comes in my mind whenever i heard the name of this giant indian multinational conglomerate takes me to my childhood days when we used to live in a small house beside which some construction work was going on. I used to go with my friends collecting empty cement sacks with ultratech written on it and after collecting those in huge numbers we used to tie them up make a round shape so that we could have our so called football. As i grew up and stepped outside my cozy room to pursue my higher studies it was then when i realized how ABG has been around me for years, be it the pantaloons or Peter England during my adulthood. I can recall a situation from my childhood days when I lost my grandfather at a stage where my family was not financially sound to bear the expenses even for our education. It was our grandparents who were in way supporting us both financially and emotionally. But after my grandfather's demise it all came upon my father to take care of the whole family. For few months we had a very rough time that any one can imagine, but then a hope of light came when we heard of the insurance policy that my grandfather took during his service days. It was the Aditya Birla sunlife insurance, this small wise decision of my grandfather proved to be a blessing for the whole family. My father still recalls those days and shares everytime we all get together about the hardships that he faced and about the support he received from the insurance company. After so many years my father still asks us to invest wisely whether it be mutual funds or anything else that could help the family in situation of crisis.
The only thing in life which is constant is change. As simple as this statement sounds, it brings a set of easiness as well as difficulties in one’s life. This scenario was faced by me approximately 15 years back where they were not so many malls in Delhi as well and a new multi-store had come up, known as Pantaloons.
Last year when I joined my college, my dreams were many and to be very honest I was a tad nervous. After 7 years of education and job in IT, I needed a break from all the coding and maintaining IT systems. So I asked myself, what am I good at. The first thing that came to my mind is graphic designing and branding. I have always loved Brands. Numerous times I have thought to myself, why this color, why this logo? Why this ad in this way? Why are they targeting only the youth population? Oh God! Again the same idea behind a deodorant ad. When will they realize we are much more than attracting attractive girls through a artificial body odour.
