A glimpse into my life - Aman Srivastava, IIM Ranchi

It all started after my 12th exam when most of my friends were going for JEE coaching classes, some of them were taking admissions, and I was clueless about what to do with my life. I was always an average student got decent marks enjoyed life but never thought about a career that much. So I finally decided to drop a year and prepare for competitive exams without any coaching classes. Fast forward one year, results came out, and I didn’t make it, but I managed to get admission in BHU Bachelor in Science Physics program.

Aditya Birla Group: Enriching lives worldwide !! Rohit Jha, IIM Ranchi

Why is Aditya Birla Group big in my life?An Aditya Birla group advertisement rightly mentions that 'A vision becomes a milestone when it touches millions of lives every single day.' The impact which ABG creates across countries is true to its vision to be a premium global conglomerate with a clear focus on each of its businesses.                      It has also affected my life predominantly, as might be the case with many other people in this world. The previous generation of my family used to live as a joint family in our village. It had now become an old and archaic building with many of its parts falling apart. We then decided to build a new house with all modern amenities. My big aunt was quite adamant on getting the house built as she wanted to keep herself attached to our village. We decided to use UltraTech cement in the construction of our home, and it lived up to its expectations. The house stands as a symbol of our family and also enhances our family reputation. Sadly after staying in the house for about two years, my aunt passed away, and now the house always brings back memories of her in our minds. After her demise, the house has created a special place in all our hearts. Moreover, during my college days, we had a MORE store nearby our place, and we used to frequently visit that store for our daily needs as there was an absence of a wholesome store in the area.My father is also fond of investing his money in shares, and on one such occasion, he bought some shares of Idea Communication in 2008 which became a source of revenue for our family when he sold it back in 2015.How have you made an impact? My life, in general, has had its fair share of challenges and obstacles and growing through them is what makes me the individual I am today. I have always relied on perseverance and hard work to take me through in my life.Belonging to a Middle-class family without a stable family income growing up during our formative years was not very easy. Having an elder brother helped as it meant we could share our joys and sorrows among ourselves. Especially after my father left his job in 2002, the environment in our family became all the more chaotic, and it was difficult considering our age. But during those times also, my focus remained always on achieving excellence in my academics, and I eventually continued to be among the top scores all through my school. The situation fuelled me to perform in the best possible manner. After my higher secondary examinations, I felt I had not performed well in the engineering entrance examinations, and I wanted to have another crack at it. My family didn’t wish so, but I took that decision and improved my scores considerably in the Engineering entrance tests. The same thing repeated in my life after I joined a workplace where I had to work in shifts, which enabled little time to do some productive work. After working for around eight months, I left that job and began doing a different thing with an additional focus on the MBA entrance tests and eventually landed up in IIM Ranchi.

Wrapped in Emotions - Me & ABG - Harsh Raj, NITIE Mumbai

I have been away from my home for the last 9 years. Initially, I used to enjoy the freedom I had. I enjoyed the transition from a boy to a man. But as time flew by, I realized all the freedom and enjoyment came at a cost. The cost was living in the real world away from those who selflessly loved me the most- my parents. The home cooked food by my mother and the quotient of love and care it had, has been the biggest void in my life. With every passing meal that I consume in the mess with a dull face, I get nostalgic about how excited I used to be during school days in anticipation of what my mother had packed in for lunch. Opening the lunch box was like a suspense episode and there was the Freshwrapp aluminium foil (By ABG) wrap that added to the thrill. Removing the foil to unravel the sight of delicious home cooked food in the lunch box is one of the best lifetime memories that I have and if I am not wrong, for you as well. The lunch used to get over but the fun never did. As a kid, post lunch was not studying or working, It was PLAYTIME. And anything which came close to the shape of a tennis ball became our partner in crime. And guess what, nothing can beat a ball rolled out of an aluminium foil. From throw ball to cricket our silver ball used to make our entire day. These memories have very strong emotions and sentiments attached to them and terming this as a BLISS won’t be an exaggeration.
