Trust and Excellence

Trust and Excellence

Aditya Birla Group (ABG) has been present in my life from a very early stage. It is no surprise that most of us have been exposed to their products without even knowing that we are. The fact that we have been constantly been using ABG’s products has transformed its value from just a product to a sentiment.

Challenges as Motivators

Challenges as Motivators

People say that unlucky people have to face challenges in life but I think that lucky are those people who have difficult challenges in their lives. If you face difficulty then only you will gain strength in you and will be able to achieve something. I am a thalassaemic major person and this is the most difficult challenge in my life. I have to constantly juggle between living healthy and focussing on my studies and career. From a very young age I was trained to deal with the disease. All my life, I have managed the disease and I still am managing. I am very proud of my achievements till now. I have been a topper of the school and got 10/10 CGPA in class 10th. This is not a minor feat. In college I always used to get sick before final exams but I still managed to get good grades and an overall CGPA of 8.63. I was also a University topper and received scholarship for the same. I cleared CAT with good percentiles and managed to convert prestigious colleges like FMS, IIM B, IIM C, SJMSOM, IIM I etc. Finally, I joined MBA and still managing my health and tough MBA learning here at FMS. So, I don’t get disheartened because I have to face some extra challenges in my life. I am just happy that I learn something new from each one of them. This adds to the bag of my experience and makes me stronger each day.

Love and Other Ideas (ABGLP- IIM Ranchi)

The best thing about being an early 90s kid is that you got to see a world without mobile phones, a world with mobile phones the size of a 700ml water bottle and call costs or Rs. 8 a minute, and a world with snazzy smartphones and data costs that amount to almost nothing.

What does ABG mean to me?- Mayur, IIM Ranchi

Aditya Birla is one of the biggest conglomerates in India. Just like the city of Jamshedpur is well managed by Tatas, Hindalco(also known as Renukoot) City is managed by the Birlas. My maternal Grandfather used to work in the Hindalco plant. I used to often visit this city during my childhood days. It still amazes me how planned and managed the city of Hindalco was back in the 2000’s. There were 4 lane roads everywhere in the city which never caused traffic congestions. There were even well-furnished hospitals, big public playgrounds, public libraries and open air gymnasium at almost every 3-4 km. At my hometown Chandrapura, I experienced a lot of power cuts, but in Hindalco, I rarely experienced any. When I was a teenager, I wondered why the government was not taking such initiatives to attract MNCs to manage more Indian cities on Public-Private partnership like the cities of Hindalco and Jamshedpur. It will also create job opportunities for local people when these companies establish their industries. Now, when I look at my native city and think of how Hindalco was back in 2000s, it would take another 20-30 years for my city to be like Hindalco.
