It's all about patience, SIBM Pune

It was early 2007 and two things I knew about our cement and mobile phones was Birla cement and Idea phone number. We were reconstructing our house and all I could understand in the conversations between the contractor and my father is Birla cement is important. For a long time, I thought the thing that keeps my house together is called Birla cement it was only after my father corrected me that I understood the material is cement and Birla group gives the best quality. My father wanted the best for the house cause he wanted to build the heritage for generations to come. This was my introduction to Aditya Birla group and their brand value. If my father can trust the brand with generations in his mind, I can trust it with my eyes closed, may be an overstatement here but emotions don’t follow logic.

Crooked teeth, hair frizzy as a cotton candy and face covered in pimples, that was me; shaking under the weight of the jitters of my sixteenth birthday. And suddenly my sister barged into my room with a beautiful, sparkly box. That was my birthday gift! I darted across the room, snatched the box and opened it layer after layer. And there it was!  An Allen Solly original, beautiful sleeveless grey shirt! It looked at me from the box like a fresh dew drop. I was sixteen and my endorphins, dopamine and serotonin levels should have hit a fabulous trajectory after seeing the stunning shirt, but they did not. I looked impishly at my sister and said, “Do they know about this?” Back in the blurry days we weren’t allowed to wear sleeveless shirts. They were considered indecent exposure. The world was taking a twirl, but when it came to fashion it wasn’t just twirling, it was spinning like a tornado. But acceptance was a distant term for my family. The next morning I got out of my room wearing the grey shirt. I was a little apprehensive but sure-footed. My mother saw me from the corner of her eye, but before she could say something, I blurted, it’s never about the clothes ma, it’s about the person draped in them. This incident has kept Aditya Birla in my best books for introducing me to fashion and perspectives.

From the time I stepped into my undergraduate college, unknowingly brands from Aditya Birla Group became a big part of my everyday life. For a very long time, I had a very uncomfortable image of Western formals in my head. I was reluctant to step into situations where I might need to put on formals. The traditional stitched formal’s discomfort scared me. This is the part where brands from Aditya Birla Group like Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Pantaloons, Forever 21, etc. made a big entry into my wardrobe and also my life. In this era of cut-throat competition, what you wear and how you feel about it plays a big role. A very famous quote says, “Dress for the job you want, not the job you do.” which holds very true as far as my experience goes. Aditya Birla Group’s brands offer more than the kind of comfort, which one can ask for. In addition, the reach they have from online presence to brick and mortar stores makes my life very easy.
