Fear of failure: The one thing that makes it impossible to achieve dreams-Raja Agrawal, NMIMS Mumbai

Fear of failure: The one thing that makes it impossible to achieve dreams-Raja Agrawal, NMIMS Mumbai

Aditya Birla Group is USD 24.3 billion, which is one of the largest conglomerate in the country. It was back in 2014, during graduation I began to read about the big companies and conglomerates in India. I came to realise that most of the brands like Peter England, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Louis Phillippe, Pantaloons etc, which have been a part of my wardrobe for a long time are owned by Aditya Birla Group. These brands have always kept me up to date with the new fashion trends. Apart from fashion retail, Aditya Birla Group is also one of the biggest players in the telecommunications industry. My father has been a loyal customer of Idea Cellular Limited since 2000 when it was named AT&T Wireless Services, which was later changed to Idea cellular Limited in 2002. As in most of the cases families tend to influence the choices their family members make and hence I have also been a loyal customer of Vodafone Idea Limited since the first time I started using my mobile phone. When I started my first job in 2017, the mutual fund industry was booming and I also wanted to invest in equity funds. I visited my relationship manager at my bank and she explained to me various risks and funds to invest in. Aditya Birla Sun Life fund has been one of the top picks to invest and continues to be part of my portfolio to help me make long term wealth. It is also one of the top 5 Asset management companies in terms of Asset Under Management (AUM). Companies like Ultratech Cement Limited, Hindalco Industries and Grasim Industries Limited of the group have been enhancing the lives of millions of individuals just like me through several ventures.

'Big is what big does', ABG is an essential part of life-Vibhor Aggarwal, NMIMS Mumbai

'Big is what big does', ABG is an essential part of life-Vibhor Aggarwal, NMIMS Mumbai

“Big is what big does”- This is not the first ABG campaign that inspired me and several others like me. As a teenager, Idea ads were the once which brought a new perspective to my imagination. Even before I ever purchased a ABG product, the brand had been inspiring me to think differently, think big. This idea to think big and different is ingrained in the philosophy of ABG.

ENRICHING THE WORLD AND BEYOND, ANKIT MOHAPATRA, SIBM-PUNE

I’m writing this from a parallel universe. The only connection I have to earth is via this guy, PETER from ENGLAND. He lives in India though. Why you guys have separate countries is beyond me and believe me, we’re a highly intelligent species. Most people here felt like they’ll be FOREVER 21 because of the ease of living. But our population is undergoing a crisis of sorts. Apparently, socialism doesn’t really work when everyone is extremely intelligent. We have a king who introduced a currency “PANTALOONS” which has changed the way our world works. Your planet calls it money. We’ve been living hundreds of years without it but LIFESTYLE had to be changed. We were a stagnant bunch looking for the world to enrich us, excite us and uplift us. Pantaloons has created the kind of needs I didn’t know I had. Can I help myself and my people? Everybody is in a state of frenzy, as if we are now living in a dystopia. Peter tells me we are centuries behind earth when it comes to the way of living.

The undeniable power of Education- Ishita Jain, MDI Gurgaon

The undeniable power of Education- Ishita Jain, MDI Gurgaon

I have been born and brought up in a family that has always valued education more than anything in this world. My mother and her sisters are all teachers while my dad works in the education ministry and my extended family is full of people who have completed their masters. I have always been taught to value education as it is the only true harbinger of social change in the long run and feel privileged to have been received this prestigious opportunity to go to a famous private school in Delhi and have access to a lot of other avenues of learning which millions of kids today are deprived of. My family always made sure that I never forget the value of education and helped me realise how it is essential for me to give back something to the society, even if it was not something monumental. When I was in class 8th, I started teaching basic English to the young house helps, who had recently come to Delhi from their villages, working in our locality and taught them day to day mathematics as well. I did this over a couple of few months a taught over 10 house helps. I also tutored my house help’s children, right till the time I left for my MBA and her kids topped in their respective classes for 4 consecutive years. Now my younger sister has started teaching them. I also helped the house helps in our locality with the bank account opening procedures gave them some financial literacy classes. When I joined my under-graduation college, I joined Education Programme of my college. The aim of the programme was to teach the construction workers, their kids and nearby locality’s underprivileged kids anything and everything they wanted to learn. We used to assist them with their homework, teach them things outside the curriculum as well. The program was designed in such a beautiful manner that the focus was more on learning than on just studying. Throughout the year, we used to have various fun sessions, revolving around a festival, like Diwali Mela; Holi Celebrations, Dussehra Celebrations, Christmas and New Year Celebrations and we also arranged for weekly art and craft sessions where children could show us the creative side of them. We would ask them to colour diyas, which we would later sell during the College’s Diwali Mela, decorate candles, make string paintings and so much more. More than anything, the joy that comes with the time spent with these innocent and lovely children was worth every drop of sweat and every minute of time spent on arranging the events and materials for them. The very thought that you could help a child become a better version of himself/herself, get education and help his/her family get out of the poverty cycle, do something different in this stagnant world used to fill us all with emotions which words can never describe. We used to have special weekend classes for the construction workers so that they did not miss out on their work.Aditya Birla Group has been big in my life, not only because of the high-quality products and class apart customer services which they provide, but also because of the social initiatives the group has been taking. I have seen my distant relatives and extended family getting quality education and healthcare through the undying efforts of ABG and this is the most important reason for why I respect Aditya Birla Group. The way they touch people’s lives, the way they are so determined to bring about grassroot level change in the lives of the people, who have been neglected by various forces of change in our society, is worth every word of appreciation. This is how Aditya Birla Group is big in my life.
