We See It. We Like It. We Want It. We Got It! - Arunima Agarwal, MDI Gurgaon

We See It. We Like It. We Want It. We Got It! - Arunima Agarwal, MDI Gurgaon

There was a new home coming up in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. The family would visit to check on the progress while the little girl would play around. Her favourite part would be playing around those big piled up yellow sacks which would be her throne sometimes or Mt. Everest that she has to climb up. I was only eight years old but vividly remember that typical shade of yellow and the words “ULTRATECH”- all in bold letters making a statement.

Finding Success After Getting Rejected | Palanati Karthik, IIFT Delhi

Life is full of twists and turns, one shouldn't resist these changes instead embrace them. Our Journey may fail to be perfect but never fails to be beautiful.I also had many ups and downs in my life. It's been a roller coaster ride. Greatest learning of my life came from a rejection. After choosing mechanical engineering to be pursued from a UG school famous in the industry, I was excited about my journey. Mechanical industry was in it's prime then and my passion for the domain of automobile made me think that my decision was right. It was a great learning experience I had in first three years of B.tech. But mechanical industry underwent drastic changes and many companies stopped recruiting engineers rather than went with diploma and ITI graduates. Finally when my batch was up for placements Mechanical companies were rarely visiting the campus and many were forced to sit for IT industry placements. To just be employed everyone tried to get at least placed with IT giants. So, we've underwent many C language workshops and made our-self ready like half baked cookies. Feeling bad for ourselves about our lack of opportunities to pursue our interests but couldn't help. Finally on the day of interviews we kept our best yet reluctant effort to get placed in any one of those three mass recruiters that visited our campus. Result: REJECTED. I couldn't believe myself that I got rejected, despite of my decent profile and hard effort. This rejection came to me as a slipper shot.

My earliest memory associated with the Aditya Birla Group is that of Paranthas wrapped in Freshwrapp by my mother for my lunch break in school. That used to be the most enjoyable time during schooldays because my friends and I used to share our tiffins and talk our hearts out during that time. It used to be like a mini gossip session for us. As we grew up, another brand of the Aditya Birla Group drew our attention- Forever 21. Full of affordable yet trendy clothes, this brand was all the rage in my early teenage years. My friends and I used to look forward to shopping here. It was our go-to brand for everything fashion. Being in a boarding school, we rarely got the opportunity to dress up but whenever we did, we made full use of it. Then as I graduated, so did my choices, moving from Forever 21 to brands like Ted Baker with its iconic PVC bags and Pantaloons with its outstanding collection of Ethnic Wear. The Aditya Birla Group has also been instrumental in my journey since I joined IIFT, with Allen Solly Women and Van Heusen Women being the source of all my formal wear. I remember walking in for my interview, I was so nervous but it turned out to be the start of something truly incredible. So over time, this phenomenal company has been part of some of the most beautiful and memorable moments of my life and I’m confident that it will continue to play this important role for many years to come.

Aditya Birla Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate with a lot of companies and brands under it. It is one of the largest conglomerates in India not just by the name or companies but also by the work it has done for the society. I am also one of the luckiest who is immensely benefitted by Aditya Birla Group and therefore ABG is quite big in my life. It all started back in 2002 when I and my family were in a dire state. With my father who had lost his job a year back and no other financial support, the days were hard to come by. Our family of four were somehow passing the days with little savings we had. My father being educated couldn’t get a job and we were hoping for a miracle to happen. However perhaps God answer our prayers and sent the ABG as our saviour. Aditya Birla Group planned to start an aluminium factory in our Raygada district of Odisha and also promised to provide employment to all villagers nearby. My father being better educated was promised the role of a junior operator in the plant. That way our life started to change thanks to HINDALCO a unit of ABG group. Moreover under the CSR activities ABG group started a program in our village Rengali such that the women of the village gets an employment opportunities. It established a small tailoring unit when women based upon their skills were given duties. My mother being a decent operator of sewing machine got a permanent job there. Suddenly our life took a U-turn and I just couldn’t believe in my eyes. From being unemployed to both my parents being employed. Our financial condition started to improve and gradually me and my younger sister got better education opportunities. Things went normally for few years until I completed my graduation and thought of pursuing MBA for a reputed B-school in India. And Voila! I was selected for Indian Institute of Foreign Trade I was happy but our family was also bit stressed same time because the fees was very huge nearly 20 lakhs. We were very worried to arrange the money for first instalment and then again ABG came tour rescue. Since I had passed my graduation with very good percentage and was selected for a reputed b-school and was first one in our village to do so, therefore ABG group decided to give me scholarship and also provide some financial assistance during these two years. I got successfully admitted and looking forward to complete my MBA with flying colours. Thanks to ABG whose constant support has helped me to become a successful person in life. The amount of support that ABG has given me in life, it is safe to say that Aditya Birla Group is indeed big or huge in my life.

My Family, My World, Our Way | Disha Batra, IIFT

With an ever increasing number of people preferring nuclear families, I consider myself to be blessed to have been raised in a joint family setup. Being the youngest child in the entire family, I have been lucky to have been the object of my grandparents’ love and had the guidance of my uncles and aunts in addition to that of my parents’. I have been endlessly pampered by three elder sisters and two elder brothers. I hate calling them cousins as there has never been such a demarcation. Growing up, one of my favorite things to do was going for shopping with my sisters. As a little girl, I used to watch them being all excited about trips to apparel stores, Forever 21, and Pantaloons being their favorite, and trying on countless dresses. We used to come out of the stores with hands full of shopping bags every single time. My eldest sister is fourteen years elder to me and is my best friend. She invariably got me additional cute accessories on every visit.
