This is an article written as a rebuttal to IIM Ranchi's opening arguments for the Great Indian B-School debate made 24 hours earlier
This is a Counterpunch in response to IIM Trichy's FOR Motion in the opening arguments 24 hours earlier :
Valuations in the Indian E-commerce Industry have become irrational.
The preliminary round of the Great Indian B School Debate is finally done and dusted. Due to holidays, exams and other events at many B schools, we had fewer entries than expected. However, that did not deter participants of many B schools from putting forth some stirring arguments to support their points. We received more than 30 entries (i.e. more than 60 articles) from 11 institutes. For the finals, we will be taking 12 teams. That includes the 11 winners and one wild-card entry. After long hours of reading and analysing the arguments and writing style, it is now time to announce the finalists......
In India, MBA is just a degree which teaches you how to fool others, how to play with others emotions by not working in groups, throwing around jazzy management jargons which can very well be explained in plain English and above all, how to network your way up the B School ladder through desperate class participation to influential seniors and playing politics to get into the so called popular clubs. There is no knowledge or learning in this as the driver to perform is motivated by only two things: placements and grades.
