Converting SJMSOM As A Fresher - Mithilesh Raikwad
Being a GEM Fresher, I was told by many of my friends that it was a waste of money to apply separately to top colleges. B-Schools want people with work experience only!

SJMSOM interview experience was most unique and fun because they made use of the platform “gather” to make the virtual interview experience as close as to offline interview experience. We had nice options to select our own avatar, roam around the premises virtually and watch tom and jerry while waiting for our turn :)
I was very excited when I got a call from SJMSOM. Due to COVID Pandemic interviews of all colleges were scheduled online. I was a bit nervous as I had never given an online interview before. The IIT Bombay team deserves credit for recreating the same offline experience using the Gather + Zoom technology. I liked all the small details that the gather platform provided. In the Gather platform, we were given a mini character and we had to navigate our way to a pre-assigned destination in a virtual map of the IIT-B campus. It also enabled us to talk to nearby candidates and SJMSOM seniors.
In this time of Working & Schooling from home and meeting with friends online became a Normal thing for Everyone. Still, Every MBA aspirant has a dream of visiting each of his dream colleges during his interview and create a wonderful memory, but it was unfortunate for the batch of 2023 as the pandemic shifted the process from offline to online which may seem more feasible to working people. On the other hand, it shattered an enjoyable, learning and memorable process of going to campus and having a college view in which they may spend their most precious 2 years.
