Journey From Delivering Newspapers To IIM Rohtak

Journey From Delivering Newspapers To IIM Rohtak

A remarkable journey of  Rakesh Kunbi, 29 years old, who made it to IIM Rohtak facing the odds right from a young age. Reminiscing early experiences he said, "My grandfather was a mill worker while my father was a Homeguard officer in Mumbai. The main source of our family income ceased after the shutdown of a few mills in 2005. It was a difficult period for our family". At this juncture of life, 16-year-old Rakesh took up the job of delivering newspapers in order to manage family expenses but the zeal he possessed for acquiring knowledge helped him to parallelly manage education.

Roadway To TISS | How I Cracked TISSNET 2019

The journey of a thousand miles always begins with a single step! One rainy Sunday evening in 2015, when I was randomly reading up about the various b-schools in India, I accidentally came across TISS, not even knowing that I would land up there four years later. While my fellow TISSians have thrown enough light on the lovely green campus and the diverse culture of TISS, let me take you through my journey of making it to the M.A. HRM & LR program in TISS.

Life At TISS, Right As Rain

Life At TISS, Right As Rain

I write this as I try and smuggle the remainder of minutes left from an evening that is pacing to leave. The sky is full of clouds but free of rain, which is oddly out of character. The evening or the cow dust hour had both its empire and place in the sun but now, the light retreats. It races and traipses along the same slender branches of trees that fractured it into spangling shards. This coalition of endless scattered light rays march merrily into the sun that looks like a warm copper penny lost by someone high up in the clouds. If you observe the TISS logo carefully, you could perhaps trace similarly fascinating imagery! This is my attempt at chiseling away at the iceberg of a writer's block. In that glint, I reflect a speckle on #lifeatTISS. I will float a nifty disclaimer though- if I could say it in words, there'd be no reason to paint. We're all artists here!
