On Campus Stories, Dream Careers, And More - Pre-MBA Social 2018 - Mumbai

On Campus Stories, Dream Careers, And More - Pre-MBA Social 2018 - Mumbai

On a fairly clouded day in Mumbai, we hosted an enthusiastic bunch of MBA students for what we call the Pre-MBA Social. They got to meet their future recruiters and leaders in the field from companies like Hindustan Unilever and Aditya Birla Group, and there was also a heart-to-heart session with Faiz Rehman and Prashant Mohanraj. The day was spent sharing summer internship experiences, campus stories, Q&A sessions and a lot of laughter. The Konversations team took the stage as well, for a fun-filled quiz session and a stand-up comedy performance. We signed off the day with some ice-cream, certificates and the YOBO handbook and T-shirt. Here's a short video to sum up that power-packed day. Stay tuned to for more.

One of the most important aspects of placements, be it Summer Placements or Final Placements, is knowing which company you want to work for. It is imperative that you understand the work-culture, the vision and mission statement, and the approximate CTC that you are likely to receive.

Brooke Bond - No Other Brand Is My Cup Of Tea

In this new series called 'Brands We Love', we stop being management students and become innocent consumers again. We look at the products and services that touch our lives, mould our human connections and stand witness to our many triumphs and trials. If you are a future marketer, this series will help you visualise the final destination of every brand - not his pocket, not his mind, but the consumer’s heart.

Stimulating Simulations And Enthralling Experiences - IIM Indore

Stimulating Simulations And Enthralling Experiences - IIM Indore

It was 12 in the night and I was going through the case study due for the lectures next day. It was the last couple of lectures of Organisational Behaviour Course the next day and till now we were taught about group dynamics, influencing and group decision making, collaboration and negotiation, organisational culture and many such fancy terms. I was unsure whether I would be able to use any of these concepts after stepping into corporate life. Amidst these thoughts, my phone buzzed with an email from our professor stating that the last couple of lectures would be a simulation for the entire batch and all the 540 odd students have been divided into groups of 10 or 11. Till now my experience with simulations wasn’t very good, many of them were easily cracked by students leading to moderate grading and rest were too tricky leading to people randomly guessing and speculating the outcome. I assumed that this would also be like either one but why it was a group task was still out of my wit. A lot of questions were popping in my head but I decided to go with the flow and went to sleep.

Why Summer Placements Are More Important Than Final Placements

Why Summer Placements Are More Important Than Final Placements

June is that month of the year where a batch comes out of a ride and a new batch looks forward to the same for the next year. Summer Placements. When I was a b-school student I used to hear and over-hear casual remarks about this like “It's just SIP (Summer Internship Placements)”,” 2 Mahine ki to baat hai”, “go wherever you can and get out of this race”, “Finals me faad denge”. As a fresher (Or even as a lateral), you don’t have much idea about the processes and maybe you lack confidence, you feel less-than-prepared, or cant decide where to go. By the time you understand these while also settling into b-school curriculum, activities, committees, etc. SIPs start. So first thing first - I believe SIPs are more important than Finals. WHY?
