Why This Reservation?

Why This Reservation?

Reservation ,one of the most controversial aspects in India. Now the question is why this discrimination? Indeed difference is infused in the nature of India from the eve of its civilization. Difference between casts ,class, gender, skin color ,everywhere its prominent in Indian society. Somewhere People even refuse to acknowledge an human as human if they belong to a lower cast .The easiest solution for government was to reserve some of the privileges for them rather than trying to eradicate this mentality.

With great honor, should come great humility in MBA grads

With great honor, should come great humility in MBA grads

As I stood on the balcony of my flat my gaze fell upon these three girls in the distance. These three girls looked like any other three girls I might have seen anywhere in Delhi. They were carrying notebooks- all of them and two of them held books that looked familiar- books I might have purchased whilst starting my preparation for IITJEE in 11th standard. I never actually read anything beyond the preface in either of them because that was sadly, the most interesting thing about them. You see the sad part about preparing for IIT was that none of the theory told a story- the prefaces did, which is why I will have read only the prefaces of most of the prep books. But don’t tell my mom I did that or hid Archies Comics in my Resnick & Halladay – she would be heartbroken.

Small Fish in a Big Pond – Internship Saga

Small Fish in a Big Pond – Internship Saga

First of all, I’ll like to write this saga anonymously to provide greater details and to cover my shortcoming of burping more than allowed. My internship was with a laaaaarge Indian IT firm that made a good transition from being a Vanaspati company to IT. The internship seemed fine but I was more excited about the location because most of the people got absorbed in Bangalore and that is where best buddy lives. It was a chance for a reunion.

Summer Placements: IIM Indore UAE - Class of 2013 - 15

This is a 48-student batch. The breadth of opportunities for this batch is quite interesting. Sales and Marketing, and Consulting seem to be the most popular domains - each of them accounting for a third of all graduates. At the outset, we must mention that our knowledge about this programme and its placements is relatively low because of its short history and lack of our network. However, we have received many queries regarding the placements for this programme and we are happy to report it in our format. We have done as much as we could to verify information. But, potential applicants and recruiters are advised to dig deeper and get as much information as possible first hand. We can confirm that the career services centre of the parent campus does not actively help either the PGP at UAE or PGP at Mumbai programme students. There are independent committees at work at both these campuses. A Corporate Resource Manager has been appointed who also looks at placements. IIM Indore is associated with the Higher College of Technology which is very influential in the region. Also, please confirm with students studying at UAE if there are any companies mentioned here that made offers outside the institute’s placement process.
