With this deadline only a month away, I would like to provide some clarity to my peers about the uniqueness of the programme and the B-school as a whole. My journey with this place started just 3 months ago and I can recall vividly how I went about choosing this particular B-school over the other calls that I had. SPJIMR was recently placed 3rd in India and 36th worldwide as per Financial Times Masters in Management ranking. This itself is representative of the legacy and the potential that the place carries.
After finishing a meeting with the esteemed government official discussing the future of imparting education, Dr. Subhajit Bhattacharyya, Director of IMT Ghaziabad spoke to InsideIIM on a busy weekday. How would you react if you were to navigate a Sales & Marketing internship from home? Now imagine that internship being part of the alternate vehicle sector, in the midst of a country-wide lockdown. This year, many companies took the difficult decision of deferring/canceling internships promised to students. However, many others like Mahindra kept their promises, allowing their interns to join them albeit virtually. It was a situation no one had foreseen, but Mahindra quickly modified the projects that were given to their interns back in January, so that they could be completed within a virtual setup.
Although the CAT pattern has changed, the one thing that would not change is a golden mantra that every CAT aspirant should be aware of if not already. Without beating about the bush, here it goes: "1-2 questions in about 2-3 sets can be cracked without solving the entire problem set." This simple trick and an enhanced concentration helped me raise my score from an 84.1%ile in CAT 2018 to a 99.5%ile in CAT 2019 in the DI/LR section.
It's undeniable that the current economic & social situation has accelerated the need for upskilling. Professionals need to constantly upskill, do it more quickly than before and keep getting better in order to remain competitive & employable. Make no mistake, this trend has been noticed across industries & job roles.
