Like the poem, ‘The road not taken’ by Robert Frost, about two diverging roads in the woods, I took the less beaten path, to stride along the winding cobbled pathways into an iconic B-School like no other, the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. True to its name, the Social Science Institute, surrounded by mossy fern adorned walls, instilled a sense of self-realization and opened my eyes to see the world through different lenses I had never explored before.
The study of signs and symbols with their interpretation is how Semiotics is defined. In the business world, the first thing that pops in someone's mind is a company logo. The logo of a company is a symbolic representation of the vision, mission and brand positioning. It is a visual connection that a company has with its customers.

My fragile ego would squirm at the thought of witnessing the tragic combination of silly mistakes and desperate guesses interspersed between should-have-beens.
There is one recurrent question which candidates have to face during their interviews for admissions into their choice of B-Schools and also during their interviews during Summer Placements. That question is, “Why MBA?”
