The Bittersweet Feeling - The End Of Year 1
As I write this, barely a week is left for the IIIrd Term to end, which marks the end of my Ist year of MBA. To say that it has been a roller coaster ride would be both a cliche and an understatement. A time for contemplation and retrospection, I find myself at a point where so many changes are traveling towards me at a lightning speed and I am thinking of all the changes that I have already absorbed. Every day here has shown me a new side of myself I didn't know existed and I continue to surprise myself. The dynamicity of this place has changed me and I will never be the same again.

Is The Brand Too Personalised To Expand?
It was another normal Sunday for me at IIM Lucknow. No classes to attend (a big relief!) and no plans for the day, I was sure that I am going to waste yet another Sunday and regret later. After several attempts, all in vain, I finally decided to go for a haircut. This was a little different as I was going out of campus after a long time. I generally avoid wasting time going out of campus for a haircut by using the services of our very own BANSI bhaiya, who gives me a bonus head massage with a haircut that just costs 60 bucks). So I decided on Javed Habib saloon in Gomti Nagar. As soon as I entered the saloon, my enterprising aka Marwari mind wanted to know about Javed Habib. I opened up the website only to get surprised to know that not only it is a Company by the name Javed Habib Hair and Beauty Limited (‘JHHBL’) registered in India but it has operations in Singapore and London too.

“Congratulations, You have been selected for the HRM program at XLRI Jamshedpur”....These words echoed through my mind as I stood in front of our giant Learning Center admiring its beauty. Six months in XL had passed yet it seemed like we came here yesterday, how time flew amongst all the submissions and assignments was still a mystery, amongst the hustle of lectures and the constant paucity of time, I stood there wondering, “Do I really belong here?”

If you think a b-school is just like your college, think again. Not only is the learning style divergent, but the type of crowd you meet here, the type of friends you make here is very different. Starting from your go-to person for every situation- be it for career guidance, elective gyaan, project KT, relationship advice, etc. to the person who only does DCP (desperate class participation, a term we use in b-schools) in every class, you will find some of them amazing while the others irritating. But the journey with each one of them will be different and worth counting for.
