Summer placements and summer internships are an exquisite part of MBA learning. It's like a teaser for the film you are looking forward to. For the 2019 batch, our film is going to release later in 2021 after a breakthrough teaser of 2020 which has turned the entire world upside down. We, the batch of 2019 are the virtually experienced batch, completed our summer internship via virtual platform. For me, it was nothing different. My MBA journey in SCMHRD, right from the beginning, has always been filled with curiosity about working closely with a company in the domain I am pursuing my MBA. This is all about grabbing the best internship opportunity as we go along with our academic year. The college never failed to load me with enough resources to make the most of it and work towards achieving my goal. The resources in the form of mentorship by seniors and faculties, various learning platforms and teaching sessions contributed to my successful journey in getting an internship with a well-known company in the FMCG sector. The rigorous developmental plans designed by my mentors while I prepared for my internship, were a great help to me in successfully implementing every learning on the d-day. The internship selections included group discussions or case study discussions and interview rounds. Before appearing for the final day, it was very important to do regular practice interviews and GDs to keep me well versed with the proper instructions of performing well on the d-day. During this time, preparing closely with friends and batchmates, to help out each other assessing each other’s performance has proved to be the icing on the cake for me.

Getting into a good company in the placement week is one of the biggest rat races ever. For you to land in your dream company, you need to be the dream candidate for the company. The 4 Cs which I focused on while preparing for the placement were: 1. Content: If you have everything in you but the content, you’re an egg without the yolk. 2. Communication: You need to have the ability to put across your thoughts in an efficient manner. Effective communication is the step which you can’t skip if you want to land up in a good company. 3. Creativity: You will always be asked mundane questions but the answers are always expected to be creative. 4. Collaboration: Before making it to the final interview, you will have to clear the Group discussion. In this round companies don’t just look for candidates with impeccable knowledge, they look for people who can work together in a team and hence you need to control your horses and be the most collaborative version of yourself.
