Confessions Of A Screaming Heart!

Confessions Of A Screaming Heart!

It's 3 AM in the night. I returned home at around 12 from work. The day's going to be an early one tomorrow (oh, it's today already) as well. The logical step for me is to sleep right now. Like 'get-as-much-rest' as you can type? So that 'you-will-be-fresh-for-the-work' type?

Welcome On-Board! - Induction Week At IIM Sambalpur

Welcome On-Board! - Induction Week At IIM Sambalpur

It all started as a dream; one affirmative mail from one of the most premium institutes of India had propelled me into the realm of instant stardom among my friends, family and social acquaintances. The IIM brand, one of the most coveted brands for any student aspiring to have a career in the corporate world,  had accepted me for their MBA program and instantaneously, I had transformed into the metaphorical  ‘Sharma  Ji  ka  Beta’, who is supposed to be an inspiration and a role model for learning among his contemporaries, according to Indian parents.

Not Just A Maids’ Daughter

Not Just A Maids’ Daughter

One blissful morning, I was enjoying the pleasant rain with my mother's special lemon tea and her unending family chit chat just when our maid arrived, accompanied by three of her children who did not go to school today as the rainwater had made it impossible for the students and teachers to reach school. I offered them some snacks and was curious to know more about their studies due to the sensitive nature of mine. They were excited to talk about their school schedule and how they played various games and learned many interesting things while playing in school. Thanks to the efforts of the teachers even with the little resources they had a lot to share.

*Divided We Fall* #MBAIITKANPUR

I cannot help but notice the lascivious gaze of men following the opposite gender passing by them, the preposterous advancements being made and derogatory remarks being passed. Am I astonished? Certainly yes, but the astonishment is compounded by the fact that these and many more derisory extensions are being embodied as norms now a days.

What The Government Is Missing In The Farmers' 2022 Plan

What The Government Is Missing In The Farmers' 2022 Plan

In 2018 the Government has set a target to double farmers' income by the year 2022. To achieve this, it means that the income of farmers should grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of approximately 19% whereas at the current 3% growth rate it would take another 25 years to double their income. Although government is taking a lot of measures for achieving the target like neem coated subsidized urea so that it cannot be sold in black to chemical industry and reaches the farmer directly. It has also launched Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in which small and marginal farmers who have less than 2 hectares of landholding will get up to ₹6,000 per year as minimum income support. But it is also important to have a discussion on how to achieve the desired target.

Learning Management In Personal And Professional Life

Learning Management In Personal And Professional Life

I’ve been organizing table tennis tournaments in school time among the clubs in the district as a part of organizing a committee for up to 150 contestants. There I understood (obviously not fully aware that this is management) that certain disciplines have to work together to make the event successful. During my engineering, throughout 4 years, I was actively involved in organizing “SUMMIT” a national level event with over 5500 participants. I observed the work and cross functioning of different committees such as playgrounds, sponsorship, trophies, registration committees and so on. I reached to the conclusion that for an organization to succeed, it needs to have smooth and synchronized working between various departments.
