Prof. Shyam Singh is co-chairing one of the themes “Building Partnership” under this strategy. The Asia Pacific Regional Evaluation strategy is being coordinated by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and Asia Pacific Evaluation Association (APEA). Dr Shyam Singh is an Associate Professor in Social Sciences at IRMA.
He will also be co-chairing the ‘Consortium of Institutions on Monitoring and Evaluation which will function under the aegis of APEA and the Asia Pacific Regional Evaluation Strategy. The major objective of this consortium is to help academic institutions start academic courses on M&E in the Asia Pacific region. The consortium also aims to work as an advocacy group to promote the agenda of M&E education. We are starting the consortium with members from India, Japan, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines and will expand in a few months to other nations in the Asia Pacific.
“I am fortunate to be a part of a management school like IRMA that gives the critical space of aligning the managerial aspects of running institutions with the design and implementation aspects of development programs. My optional course on M&E was picked up by the evaluation community and as a result, I have been invited to co-author the concept note of the consortium and lead it as a co-chair.” Dr Singh affirmed.
Dr. Singh holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Institute for social and Economic Change (ISEC), Bangalore. He was the Scholar-in-Residence at the University of Antwerp, Belgium, in 2018. He has been engaged in various evaluation and research assignments with UNICEF, the World Bank, NABARD, and state and central governments. He is currently an advisor to the Rural Development Department, Government of Jharkhand. Dr. Singh was also an expert committee member, constituted by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, for the National CSR Award 2018 and 2020. He was part of the Second National Common Review Mission, constituted by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. His research interests include community development and governance, monitoring and evaluation, CSR, and social networks. He teaches Rural Society and Polity, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Social Network Analysis at IRMA.

The Indian Institute of Management, Bodh Gaya successfully conducted its annual HR-Conclave ‘Gyanodaya 3.0’ on 27th November, 2021. The conclave provided a platform for the future leaders to interact with business experts and acquire valuable insights from their experiences and expertise and be ready for the corporate world. The event shed light on the evolution of the HR domain over the period of time. Keeping in view of the pandemic situation, the event was conducted in virtual mode.
In continuation to the efforts towards utilizing management education in different contexts of societies, IIM Bodh Gaya signed a memorandum of understanding with the State Health Society, Bihar, for management capacity building on 22nd November 2021 at Patna. The MoU was signed between Dr. Vinita S Sahay, Director, IIM Bodh Gaya and Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Executive Director, State Health Society, Bihar; in the presence of Shri Mangal Pandey, Honorable Health Minister, Bihar; Shri Pratyeya Amrit, Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Government of Bihar; dignitaries from State Health Society, Bihar and media representatives. This MoU is a step towards training the healthcare professionals under the Government of Bihar in leadership, motivation and behavioral aspects of Healthcare Management. Honorable Minister, Shri Mangal Pandey emphasized that this MoU is a step towards building a long-term association between IIM Bodh Gaya and the State Health Society of Bihar to create a world-class healthcare infrastructure in the state. The Institute and the State Health Society share a common goal to improve the health status of the rural population by increasing the awareness level of the people and professionals and are happy in building the capacity of the health workers.

MICA has witnessed an increase in the highest stipend offered to its students for the 2-month summer placements for the batch 2021-23. The institute continued its 100% placement record for the 28th batch of its flagship PGDM-C and PGDM program. As many as 67 firms participated in the summer placement process, albeit virtually. The highest stipend offered for the two-month period is INR 3,50,000. Significant recruiters included LÓreal, ITC Limited, Mahindra Group, Microsoft, The Coca Cola Company, Flipkart, Google India, Nivea, Tata Consumer Products Ltd., Procter & Gamble participated in the summer placement process.
