This gives you roughly a time of 45 days to prepare for WAT-PI round. Although some of you might have already started preparing for WAT-PI but for those who haven’t, 'start your preparation now'. It is not late and even I started my preparation around this time only last year.
The New Year dawned on me with a golden opportunity to make it into one of the top management institutions in India. In less than 2 months, I was about to be put in groups, to test my mettle against some of the brightest minds in the country. But one major hurdle stood before me; an under-confident self, feeling too anxious to face GDs and interviews. Many of you might be feeling the same while starting off this year. However, the good news is that there is always a way to improve.

In continuation of my article on Cracking IIM interviews, this article aims to give you an edge over the 20 thousand odd candidates who will be writing WAT alongside you. Although heavily overlooked, WAT is a place where you can showcase your skill of being voluminous in few words and an opportunity where you can show a balanced outlook of your views. Also, having gone through an undergraduate course and possibly work experience, most of us forget the art of writing with pen and paper – Good handwriting is an unsaid necessity.

I have travelled far and wide, met several scores of people in my lifetime, yet I was giddying with excitement about the prospects of a new place, new people and new life. Between sparse google pictures and horror stories painted by seniors, I was at my wits’ end as to what to expect from an institute of such stature. All of it paled in comparison when I stood in front of the gates which read Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode; fully aware of the year-long hard work, discipline and sacrifice that went in to reach here!

Most people every year close to the admission season always ask me what they can do to better build their profiles, be more employable or to even increase their chances of getting into a better B-School. It would be wrong to say that I have it all figured, however, now that I have reached the end of my B-school life and am seeking out a final offer for myself, I’d like to share some of the things I did and some that I could have done to build my CV even more.
Every year, over 2 lakh candidates write exams and nearly 20 thousand students get called for the coveted interviews, all hoping to be to capture one of the 4500 seats IIMs have to offer. Many give their best to bell the CAT but that's only the beginning of the race. What follows is preparing for a crisply written Written Ability Test (WAT) and the challenging interview which every candidate needs to ace.
