An Experience As A Tra-Digital Marketing Intern

An Experience As A Tra-Digital Marketing Intern

When I entered my B-school, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, I did not have a very clear idea of how an internship works as I hadn’t done one in my graduation also. Being a fresher, I was told multiple times that I must build my resume as it was already way shorter than those who had some work experience. I realised that getting a good role in my internship was mandatory for me so that it reflects well for me. In the first two months, I realised the importance of my summer internship project. After analysing the situation and talking to alumni and faculty, I decided to make my concepts stronger, get some more knowledge in the subjects I am interested in and get some practical knowledge too. The lectures would take care of the subject and technical knowledge. I decided to pursue some certificate courses for the purpose of deeper knowledge on the marketing domain to stand out. So I studied adwords, google analytics and a couple of other courses like video marketing etc. To understand the practical side of the subjects, I decided to carry out some live project. These kinds of opportunities kept dropping in our mailboxes regularly and as soon as I settled with my curriculum and other college activities, I opted for two live projects; one of which was a post opening analysis for an outlet of McDonald's and the other one was a project on B2B marketing and sales for a start-up called Janta app. These projects along with the book helped me understand the implementation part of the concepts which we studied in our classrooms.

Internship At The Dynamic FMCG Industry - On Interning At ITC

Ever since undergrad days, being a student of marketing, I was very much keen on working in the FMCG industry. When the time to look for a company to do my summer internship from, I took a huge leap of faith and started applying to all FMCG giants in India. I tried my luck everywhere. When my application for internship passed through ITC ltd, I couldn’t contain my happiness anymore. I had a face to face interview with the HR team of the organisation and then they selected me. Late when on asking them, why they had selected me, they abruptly answered that the cover letter I had sent with my resume during the application process stood out and hence, they were willing to give me a chance and thus, I was called for the interview. During the interview they only asked me situational marketing-based questions to which I answered confidently, apply whatever marketing knowledge I had gained from my undergrad day and a year in MBA.

An Internship At Kalpataru Ltd.

Coming from a civil engineering background with a techno-marketing work-ex, MBA has been a very new and very great learning experience. The first year of MBA has been an amazing journey and then as a part of my summer internship, I got an opportunity to work at one of the leading companies in the real estate sector, Kalpataru Ltd. Construction has also been a fascination and then this opportunity proved to be a golden one wherein I got to work with the best in the field...to get to know about how they work, what policies do they follow, the technologies that they have adopted, the uniqueness that they provide etc. And I was lucky enough to be a part of the biggest launch by them, yes I got an opportunity to work for their latest launch project which was the biggest in their history. And also we were given a tour of all the ongoing projects in the city as well as the most luxurious ones. Not to forget about the working environment which was always a boost to work with full enthusiasm and do better each day. Be it the seniors, be it the co-interns everybody was so supportive that work became stressfree after a certain point of time. Otherwise, the everyday hassle of travel in a city like Mumbai takes a lot.

An Experience To Cherish For Life - An Internship Experience At Big Basket

My two months stint at big basket was one of the most enthralling and enriching experiences. A leader in online deliveries of fruits and vegetables big basket has had a very strong supply chain network. I could feel this being a resident of Bangalore that they never compromised on their time schedules. Big basket visited our campus for the summer internship process in November. The swiftness in conduction of the entire process and the fact that the result was announced hardly after 5-6 hours of the interview round did give me a glimpse of how fast-paced E-commerce business is. It all started with a group discussion followed by the personal interview rounds. The interview questions mostly revolved around our domain knowledge and how aware we are of the latest trends in the industry. I remember the national head asking a question to us saying “Which out of customer satisfaction or profit is more important to the company”? And most of us replied customer satisfaction to which he briefed us as to how Customer Experience and satisfaction was something they focused a lot on.
