The selection for my Summer Internship happened over 3 rounds. We were finally free from the gruelling three months of the first trimester when the summer internship process started. From attending mock GD’s to reading up resource materials provided by our college committee and clubs, the race had started. I would read all the HR websites and keep a tab on the latest news.
Summer internships while pursuing an MBA are a great way to take some time off from books to explore different domains, functions, and industries. Human life is full of irony, owing to the uncertainty and unpredictability embedded within human nature. Very often, we have heard in stories that overt appearances prove to be just the reverse. This is perhaps true with my tenure as an intern in HDFC Bank, Makbul Aalam Road, Varanasi.
20 hours before Day 0 of summer internships, when the CV shortlist was out, just right there my ride got bumpy. With my name reflecting in the waiting list, my only aim was a move to the main rounds. With only a 50% chance in my hand, it was time for me to put nothing less than 100% of all the rest that I had to offer.
The journey of my internship began when I decided to join India’s first green B-school - Universal Business School. Then came the crucial moment the summer internship project but luck doesn’t seem to favour me. I got into XYZ company but later I realised that it wasn’t the industry I wanted to join, so there were many ups-down between me and the placement coordinator of the schools. But as it is rightly said, all is well that ends well, and I got in Deloitte.
