My Two-Month Long Association With SVEP - Ashutosh Satpathy - XSRM

My Two-Month Long Association With SVEP - Ashutosh Satpathy - XSRM

What is Rural Management? This question popped up in my mind, exactly a year ago when I wanted to make a career change from being just an engineer.  Have I made a wise career choice? I asked these questions while joining Rural Management Programme offered by Xavier School of Rural Management (XSRM), XUB.

Heyday At Network18 - Saswati Mahapatra - XAHR

Having been an IT professional for a couple of years before joining XAHR, I had walked in with a completely different set of experiences, work culture and corporate knowledge than what my summer internship at a media house was going to offer. Network18 being one of the largest broadcasting houses in the country, it is easy to assume that I got a pretty big team to work with! But even with over a 3000 plus employee strength, Network18’s HR team comprised only of around thirty-five Human resource managers (the amazing work culture makes this much more exciting than it sounds). For if not anything else, as an HR intern, I walked out with a pretty diverse experience to boast about!

Always thinking out of the box and looking out for passionate people to join their organization, the process that we went through for our selection was definitely something which we had not expected. After 3 days of interesting yet mind-boggling activities, which were fun, while at the same time made us think about the intricacies of business, I was very lucky to be selected as one, to intern with them.

Reckoning With Royal Bank Of Scotland - XIMB

Three terms after, in filial obligation to MBA,  I had persevered with obsequious patience and labour to witness the fruits of ‘firmness of purpose’. The exams drew to a close! And an obstinate zeal of interning was running high in me, Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) was beckoning. The zeal was rocketing but so weren’t my psychic powers for Chennai, a city uncharted. In the months that were harbingers to my arrival, the City was singeing, the Kaveri water dispute had taken toll of normalcy. The immediate casualties were the CSK matches! Notwithstanding, with a heart fortified, a mind patient, and an understanding simple and schooled, for what we know must be, I packed my valise.

A Summer In The South - Sthitipragna Sahoo, XIMB

Being heavily of the “dollops of precautions garnished with overthinking” type, I started informing all my friends, some 4 months back about my 2 months Bangalore stay; reason being ‘ search this lazy girl a PG! ‘ And they actually did. I landed up in a PG some 8 km away from my office. If you conveniently coin this up as a disastrous miscalculation in the traffic oriented city, let me correct you. With definitely a chunk of odds against it,  still staying with the people you have grown up with, reliving your good old engineering days was one of my rarely made smart decisions ever! A caramelized marshmallow in your daily caffeine mug, I would say!

EY & I - A Glimpse Of The Better Working World - IFMR

During a mid-March-not-so-pleasant lunchtime at the college cafeteria, I received the email stating my joining date as 2nd April at Ernst & Young Bangalore, which also confirmed my stay at the desi Silicon Valley for 10 weeks. The selection process had concluded a month back and the five of us at IFMR were eagerly waiting for this tiny yet significant piece of information. During the interview process of EY, the recruiters provided an exhaustive overview of what was expected from the interns at one of the BIG FOUR firms.
