“I need something different in my life. What to do? Switch my job? The current work experience isn’t enough to do that. And well every job is going to be the same. Then?” These thoughts crossed my mind one fine day while I was relaxing on the most comfortable place in the world, my bed. I always wanted to get an MBA degree under my belt during my graduation years, but never start a focussed preparation.
After a careful thought one day I decided to open a trunk full of books, some being quant, reasoning and the ones I dreaded the most English. Being in a job that demanded about 8-9 hours of my daily life I was left with a reasonable amount of time for my preparation. I gained momentum slowly and was at full pace with my preparation in July. Studying before and after the office hours, giving weekly tests followed by their detailed analysis, this was my life for the next 4.5 months.
After various setbacks and more importantly successes I was able to covert four colleges. The first being IMT Ghaziabad then TAPMI followed by IMI Delhi and finally came the big one XIMB. I was happy about the fact that I would be taking the final call now. I would be the one rejecting colleges and letting them know that they are not worth having me!
The easier to reject were TAPMI and IMI Delhi. The dilemma was between XIMB and IMT. Being from Noida, one was quite close to my home but the second one had a better brand name. One had the disadvantage of huge batch strength then the other had the disadvantage of being a bit too expensive.
After having a series of discussions with my family members and a few others I chose paying a bit extra and rarely visiting my home for the coming two adventurous years. I went for a bigger brand name and slightly better placement scenarios.
I am confident that XIMB and my efforts are not going to let my decision down.
Which ABG company would I want to work for and why?
I would like to work for ‘ABOF’ among the companies of the ABG. The reason would be my inclination towards the e-commerce sector.
Another reason would be my interest in the operations and logistics sector. Knowing that this is an E-Commerce branch, the coordination and networking required would be an area of personal development for me.
Owing to this fact, I could also branch out into other verticals such as marketing. This would boost my holistic development as well as provide a steep learning curve.
