After working with renowned companies in the field of the power plant and banking, I started aiming for the next level in the corporate world. As I analysed my skill set, the decision for doing MBA was not a difficult one. The main challenge lay ahead. Yes I am talking about choosing a suitable college for pursuing my dreams.
The anxiety took a toll when the selection process started. Every institute offered one or other thing that was intriguing. But in the end the very evident answer that came up was Business Management in
Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB).
XIMB is the one which challenges its students in every step. The institute not only has a prowess in the academics but as well have a huge number of extra-curricular activities. The legacy of XIMB is talked about in every sphere of the corporate jungle.
I couldn’t have asked more from any of the Institute offering the course. The college has a diverse population which has a student who has work experience from 12 months to more than 48 months belonged to many domains from all over the country with a 30% women also. This takes the peer learning to next level. Each and every faculty member is an expert in his/her domain having a long industry exposure too. The pedagogy doesn’t stress upon the bookish knowledge rather the dynamic practical market study is emphasised. It also boasts of a huge library filled with thousands of case studies, business magazines and journals for the research.
I remember the day when I reached the XIMB with my bags in my hand and dreams in my eyes. I looked up the sky, the sun was shining brightly. The letters XIMB stood strong in the heat. The pride filled my heart. The legacy of 30 years was behind the gates that I was going to cross. As I entered the gate, I was greeted by one of our seniors, he said “Welcome, walk on the X-Walk and remember your life will never be the same”. That’s true, I never doubt the decision taken.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
I would like to work with Aditya Birla Capital. The company is leading the market in almost all the financial products. Having worked with a leading bank in India, I believe that my skills and knowledge will help the growth of the company, as well as the challenges in the sector, will help me grow in my career.
