When Creativity has no limits at IIM Udaipur

It was 3 a.m. on 26th January, and more than 15 PGP1s and PGP2s were wandering around four big wooden sheets with paint brushes and colors in their hands looking for space where the colors were left to be painted. It was the second time when the Audacity’s theme was to be depicted on the graffiti. It took three sleepless nights to make the theme speak itself on the wooden board.

Audacity is the annual cultural extravaganza of IIM Udaipur which was conducted on 27th and 28th January 2018. This year’s theme was “Experience Navrasa”- the myriad of nine emotions. Being the member of CreArT- the Creative and Arts club of IIM Udaipur, we were supposed to come up with an image which will be painted on the graffiti and which should be relevant with the theme. Depicting nine emotions on one graffiti was difficult to execute. After brainstorming and consulting with the senior team of CreArT, we came out with the idea. The image will consist of different faces with the nine emotions of love, sad, anger, laughter, courage, terror, disgust, surprise, and peace. The challenge for our team of 8 members was to execute the graffiti on wooden ply with a size of 16 ft. By 8 ft. With only five days in our hand, we decided on the theme which we will portray on the sheet. It took two days to whitewash four big sheets of wood and to draw the theme on it. The senior and junior team of CreArT started to paint the graffiti with a feeling of joy and excitement. The wooden pieces were kept in the mess so that students would see the graffiti being painted and those whose artists were hidden inside them can join us.

Gradually, with the passage of time students started to see how the colours were filling the blank wooden sheets. It interested few of them, and they joined us. It was mesmerizing to see how day and night students were involved in completing the graffiti and every member of the student community could not wait for the graffiti to be finished. Everyone had forgotten about their classes, their pre-reads and whenever anyone was free, they just run towards the mess and see the progress made.

After two sleepless night, finally, with the help of 25 PGP students, the graffiti was completed. The joy and satisfaction on the everyone’s face were overwhelming. People visiting the campus for Audacity were amazed and wondered was it made by the students???

Company of Aditya Birla in which I would like to work is Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited. There are two reasons why I Choose ABFRL-

1. Being a member of Aditya Birla family has always motivated me to work for one of the companies of the conglomerate. Living in Nagda where Grasim Industries is operating from 1947, father working at Grasim Industries from past 23 years and myself working as an Intern in Birla Cellulose, has already provided me an insight of the workings at Aditya Birla.

2. ABFRL excites me to work because today’s generation is fashion conscious and ABFRL is serving the world by providing fashionable apparels of top brands like Pantaloons, Allen Solly, Peter England, etc. It is India’s first Fashion lifestyle entity, and it provides apparels with the best quality fabric.
