With the above adage in mind, I would like to introduce my team of 10 – The Placement Committee. This is not a plug or a not-so-subtle invite to the Aditya Birla Group for placements (but hey just FYI, our campus hiring programme has started inviting proposals!). This is a short eulogy about some of my batch mates who I think are crazy. Crazy talented.
Jebanezer Rajeev:
Like his multilingually pronounceable name, Jeba also is bestowed with ‘multitalents’. There isn’t a musical instrument he cannot play; after all, he is the president of the Music Society of IIM Udaipur. A great actor, a Silvertongues member, a dedicated student with integrity at his core, as benevolent as Solomon; Jeba is a perfectionist. There have been so many instances when he has left all of us in awe and sometimes envy of how he manages to do it all. You can find him cooking food with friends one moment, going hiking with his guitar the other, only to see him come back dancing in the college flash mob.
Madhuri Awate:
An analytics aficionado, Madhuri is the kind of woman power the world is in dire need of. Coming from an army family, her strength and unruffled demeanour ties the whole team together. Her efficiency levels surpass everyone else’s. Her opinions and articulations always end arguments in the team and bring us all back together on the same page.
Nandan Agarwal:
Being a member of the Council of Student Affairs at IIM Udaipur apart from being a Placement Committee member makes Nandan the godfather of the team. There is no one who can refuse an offer he makes, because of the sheer persuasiveness he possesses. His level-headedness, caring attitude, persistence to deliver the worst jokes until people acknowledge them, and brilliant poker face after successfully cracking the best jokes add to his charm.
Saransh Vyawahare:
Saransh talks marketing, eats marketing, breathes marketing and lives marketing. His passion for everything and anything that he does is admirable. Whenever the team is taking any decision, it is Saransh who brings that one different perspective which changes the entire discussion and adds more depth to it. Apart from being perfect, he is one of those gentlemen the world is falling short of.
Shantanu Korada:
There are few heroes on this side of the galaxy who have an impeccable track record of being that beacon of light for so many. Towards this end, let me introduce Korada, as the most powerful entity on this God given green piece of solid blue rock. This philosophical, brave, witty, caring and the most approachable soul in our batch has overcome every adversity that came his way; a terrible accident, loss of loved ones, slump in grades, rejections from girls; in the most positive and mature fashion.
Shantanu Ugemuge:
With his proactive and passionate disposition towards his work and academics, Ugemuge leads almost every role he undertakes. He is the powerhouse of the team who drives everyone. There is not a dull day in his life and he ensures the same for the people around him. He is the first one to come to every party and the last one to leave every work meeting. His awareness about self and constant attempt to be better each day is something worth looking up to. His persistence and dedication have also gained him a special place working with our director.
Shreyash Gupta:
Shreyash is the GEM (general engineering male) every Indian parent compares his child with. He knows his finance, he knows his operations, he knows his marketing and he knows his globe. He knows everything about almost anything. His knowledge of the most random to the most relevant topics is invincible, so much so that the faculty also almost never questions it. Apart from his intellect, Shreyash has been a placement committee member in his under graduation days as well and thus brings a lot of experience to the team.
Shubham Sharma:
A happy-go-lucky Indori who tries to do stand-up comedy about Poha (how unexpected!) by day and a philosophical Bukowski fan by night, Shubham is a man of extremities. Whenever you need help, just reach out to this ‘Good Ham’ and “Help will be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it”.
Vatsal Shah:
Despite being the youngest in the team, Vatsal has moments when he shows the most maturity. He is in a constant endeavor to overcome his shortcomings and grow wiser with each passing day. He is always yearning to learn, on his inquisitive tip-toes, always ready with questions. His south Bombay slang, way too cool swag to his utter professional and sincere self, makes us feel like proud parents.
A group of 10 imperfect individuals who come together with the perfect team (thus driving home the opening quote of this article) - that is the Placement committee of IIM Udaipur for you.

If I had to pick one company from the Aditya Birla Group, I would like to be a part of Aditya Birla Capital Ltd. Having completed my under graduation in Finance, I was inclined towards pursuing the same during MBA. Here, I am currently studying subjects like Corporate Valuation and Banking, Financial markets and Systems. I also had the opportunity to intern with an Investment management firm in the Financial Operations department during my summers. In light of my past profile and current interest, I find myself best suited to pursue a career in a company like Aditya Birla Capital which would expose me to the various functions of a financial services company like asset management, wealth management, private equity, project finance, etc.
