Born in 1997, she is among the youngest of the batch. When I first saw Reshma, I thought she was sweet naïve kid who just passed out of college. I have to admit I underestimated one of the smartest people in our batch. In the first week itself, she started excelling in all the assignments and activities given. She sounds like a book nerd, doesn’t she?! Try having a rap battle with her. She will crush you. A poet, writer, rapper, singer and an excellent student is how one would perfectly describe Reshma.
Even these adjectives are probably too less to describe her.
It would be crazy if I don’t mention one of my dentist friends, Dr.Bansri in the batch. I was lucky enough to befriend both the dentists of my batch. Soon after her dentistry, Dr.Bansri was pursued work in the health care industry to help people in low resource areas gain access to basic healthcare services. With that aim in mind, she joined a Social Enterprise, CareNX Innovations as their Program Manager. She helped in providing doorstep maternal care to pregnant women in low resource areas by training NGO health care workers to use innovative technological tools. Her passion to work in female healthcare in these areas has been inspirational to all of us and her journey to IIM Trichy has been a hell of a crazy ride.
Sri Ram is one of those engineers who after graduating from a reputed college like BITS Pilani, chose education as a career. Being a very down to earth, always smiling teacher, I’m sure he became everybody’s favourite. But you will realise this teacher is like no other when you see his travel diaries. Before joining the college, he went on the longest motorbike ride of his life. He started from
Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), his hometown and went to Bangalore, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Jabalpur, Jhansi, Gwalior, Agra, Delhi, Panipat, Chandigarh, Shimla, Kasol, Teerthan Valley, Manali, Chandratal Lake, Kaza. He finished his beautiful trip in around 1.5 months and ended it by coming to join IIM Tiruchirappalli.
Anand Kumar, another student contributing to the diversity of the batch is a Bachelor of Arts (Geography) graduate. He sings beautifully and is a district level chess player. But he is not just covered in arts and extra curriculars, he is very good with numbers as well. He is silent most of the time but if someone even mentions Sachin Tendulkar, he will be the one to start a full-fledged
conversation.
Shubham Goyal, another crazy batchmate, has a commerce background and isn’t afraid to flaunt it. He is effortlessly good at academics, loves playing basketball and runs marathons for fun. For the last 16 months, he had made it a mission to visit a new city every month. Though he ended up covering way more than 16 cities in 16 months. One of his most treasured memories is his trip to Tso Moriri where he almost passed out of acute mountain sickness but still kept himself awake just to watch the sunrise. His passion coupled with his drive to achieve success in everything he works for makes him the craziest of us.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
I want to join Aditya Birla Group Chemicals as I have prior experience working in ZS Associates with pharmaceutical clients. I would be able to apply my existing domain knowledge and the managerial skills learnt at IIM Tiruchirappalli and would be able to contribute more to the organisation.
