When I decided to pursue Management studies in India, I was determined to get only into one of the top B-schools in our country. After achieving good CAT percentile, I got calls from a few B Schools luckily IIM Trichy is one among them. I had other calls from IITs and a couple of IIMs which are older than IIM Trichy. While researching about different B Schools before my interview IIM Trichy grabbed my attention with its State of Art Campus, CFA Recognition etc. After the final converts, IIM Trichy being one of them, I started the rigorous research about the institutes. After all, the next step would be the launching pad for next 3 decades of my career.
I had several options in my hand and I want to choose based on my requirements. As a future management student, I respect the past growth, campus life, future prospects, enthusiastic clubs and committees, good pedagogy and transparency of the institute. Apparently, all my above requirements are met at IIM Trichy.
The batch profile and placement statistics reflected the growth of IIM Trichy with their upward trend. It showed, for being called a ‘2nd Generation’ IIM with only passing 7 years since its inception, its growth is in a fast pace such that it would surpass a few IIMs older than it in a couple of years.
Campus life is one requirement which I give importance to. With its new State of Art campus, world-class Learning resource center and sports complex, I believed there would be a great scope of personality development. There are also various clubs and committees which are both academic and non-academic and won various competitions in finance, cultural activities, sports etc. I could get exposure to several extracurricular activities which would help in overall development.
Pedagogy at IIM Trichy is one of the best in India who comes from premier institutes across the country and world. IIM Trichy created its own brand in this area. I could also say that IIM Trichy is one of the transparent and well-administrated B-schools with respect to its statistics, admissions, academic life.
All the above and several other factors made me choose IIM Trichy without a second thought. As per perception, the feedback I received from alumni, students from older IIMs and various other B schools and people from industry, proved my decision to choose IIM Trichy is absolutely right.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
Aditya Birla Capital is providing services in various finance domains like wealth management, risk management, Mutual funds, Insurance etc. I am currently inclined towards finance based on my interests and experience. So, I want to work for Aditya Birla Capital given an opportunity.
