Be it a chilly winter morning or a blazing hot summer afternoon; be it a heavy downpour with the wind snatching the umbrella from your hand or a pleasant cool spring evening with the campus in its full glory; be it a sunny day or a calm night; you can always find students running up and down the “Prabandh Shikhar” (Management Summit). These students at times rushing or at times strolling in the different seasons and weathers that Planet-I is blessed with will always paint a different picture for an outsider.

“I’m going to boast like the people of yesteryears – I used to climb up a hill to reach college… That was the level of dedication I had for my studies!” Such words and the likes were a common phenomenon and you could always hear one person or another making promises for future dialogue delivery while panting after the climb, short of time they needed to reach their class. (One minute late – and you get no attendance!)

These unique conversations and scenes can only be found in IIM Indore, a college with three levels of sanctuary – Patal-lok, Dharti-Lok and Swarg-Lok. Swarg-Lok is at the summit with a strategically placed Academic block and Library where students supposedly find salvation with knowledge. At Dharti-lok, a level below, we find our worldly wishes of good food and fun times at hang-out spots come true. “Adda” – a food joint where you find friends hanging out lends life to the otherwise busy and bustling campus. Some people were also lucky enough to find their abodes on earth, unlike the unlucky few who were sent to serve in Patal-lok, the lowest level in campus. Mainly populated with hostels, this is also where the devils party and play and sleep for the limited time they can afford. Sports Complex and a beautiful swimming pool offer respite to the otherwise unfortunate souls.

IIM Indore is tagged as the “campus that never sleeps.” That’s because the rushing and running fools are not just found trying to reach their classes, they are also found trying to get to their meetings for the plethora of clubs, committees and groups that keeps the campus vibrant and lively. And these meetings happen invariably at night after all the classes, pre-reads, assignments, submissions, presentations and simulations are done and dusted for the day before they can catch up again at the wake of the sun rising another day.

The best part, sometimes people are also rushing about to get to a party because the managers in us make sure that we manage our time efficiently and end up having some to enjoy with friends; enjoy the beautiful campus and the college life we might not get again.

We run because we are busy, and we like staying busy because we love being active. But most importantly, we run because we want to make the best out of the 2 years we get to live on this campus.

THE ABG COMPANY I WOULD LIKE TO WORK FOR

A marketing enthusiast, I believe I would perform best if I market products that I feel strongly about. That is why I would love working for Aditya Birla Fashion Retail Limited. Amidst some of my favourite brands and retail chains, and working for the largest fashion conglomerate in India, I feel I would get the best of both worlds. I would not only get an amazing exposure which would lend a plethora of learning opportunities, I would also be working in an Industry I have a passion for. Also, having heard only great things about the work culture at the company from friends who’ve worked there, I think I’ll feel completely at home
