The IIM Indore campus is set on a hill, a hill called 'Prabandh Shikhar '. The campus is in three 'levels' which are at three different heights around the hill. Seeing the grandeur of the buildings it is easy to mistake it for a high-security area where entry is by invitation only. It is rightly called a castle with the lavish facilities provided here. The well-equipped, air-conditioned classrooms, sports and gym facilities (tennis courts, cricket stadium, squash, billiards, steam and sauna bath and a lot more), auditoriums are all world class. Having the whole Olympic size swimming pool to yourself on lucky days is something that you can’t have everywhere. The breath-taking view from the sunset point is only matched in its beauty by the dazzling Indore skyline at night. Every Saturday, the week’s release (mostly Bollywood) is screened here, for the students. So, whether it is the eventful DJ parties or having a nature walk on the campus there is something to do for everyone.
Celebrations are given great emphasis at “Planet-I” and rightly so with the large diverse batch size bringing different cultures together. So, a Bengali Feast on Monday would be closely followed by an Onam Feast to be followed by a Rajasthani Feast the next week.
The curriculum is very interesting with subjects from all domains. In the second year, you get to choose your subjects through an exciting bidding process. Unique programs like Rural immersion program and Himalayan outbound program give us an opportunity to enjoy by putting us outside our comfort zones. These gave us a chance to meet people we wouldn’t have otherwise and understand their problems
Indore is well-known for being a foodie’s paradise with places like 56(Chappan) food street, sarafa bazaar, Sayaji and Chefs Alcove. The campus, full of lush green lawns and a rich canopy of trees, is surely a photographer’s delight.
But more than the facilities and celebrations it is the people. The huge batch strength and the diversity among them teach you a lot. You come across people from varying backgrounds filled with immense talent and brilliant ideas. This place has already given me countless friends and memories in a year.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
I would like to work with Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABFRL). It has a great future ahead in India. The company wants to continue to keep fashion & offline retail as its main business model. Trying to scale fashion brands already there in its portfolio as well as acquire new brand licenses to sell in India. Besides, slowly venturing into other fashion categories that it is not already ventured - ex: watches, inner wear as well as new customer segments. It’s Values completely relate to work culture. Values are Integrity, Seamlessness, Passion, and Commitment & Speed. They have speed in every action which never divulges from given commitment.
