In a B-school, when your day starts at 7:30 in the morning, you know it will be a long one. Getting ready for that 9 a.m. class and reaching just in time is an art possessed by many. But this is not the only struggle in the morning. It extends to choosing the correct seat in the hall. The selection of the right position is extremely critical as it would decide what kind of a day you are going to have and hence often there are fights over who will seat where. The seats are thus determined by a rule of thumb created unanimously by the class: If there is a study material at a desk before you come, you cannot sit on that desk, find yourself another one.

The name-calling and shouting insults at one another are integral parts of the class and rightly so as one needs to sit in monotonous lectures throughout the day and this acts as a way to exit that boring world. Calling out the class representative for anything and everything is the second nature to many.

In all of this stupidity, we have a group of friends that we like to call SINISTER SIX, taking after one of Marvel’s most iconic villainous group by the same name. These are the people who pull out pranks on each and every one, disturb everyone during lectures, distract you if you are giving a presentation. As many adverse effects this nonsense has, a coin always has two sides. On the brighter side of things, these disturbances teach us to focus on the job at hand and ignore the noises.

And then the lectures. Some subjects are fun while others are just a walk in a long, never ending desert. You feel sleepy; you feel thirsty, you feel hungry, all at the same time in these boring lessons. The time during these sections is slower than a snail.

Once the lectures are over, LH4 is a room to gather and complete the assignments with the group. This is the most happening time of the day, thanks to all the jokes and goofing around. Then in the night, it is time to revisit the classroom in order to do some more lecturing. This time the students fluent in some subjects help others with it, and this is probably the most serious moment of the whole day.

From flipping the class to sneaking in snacks, it has been one heck of a journey. LH4 is a room where we learn, we fight, we play, we present, and we work. It is a place where we grow both as managers and as people.

Aditya Birla Group

The company I want to join is Aditya Birla Retail Limited (ABRL). I want to do so in order to learn more about the retail sector because it is one industry that will always be afloat because the products are a commodity. Adding to this the capabilities of Aditya Birla Group which follows the best industry practices to unlock the full potential of its staff would help me to grow as an individual.
