The day I got admission in IIM Shillong, I was excited as well as thrilled not only because I would be starting with a new journey called MBA but also because I would get a chance to do it from a place lying among the clouds. North East has always been a place away from the other parts of the country, with its share of culture & beauty, unexposed from the hordes of tourist. When I reached the campus, the first thing I was mesmerized was the beauty & the naturality of the environment. All through my life, I have seen the environmental situation deteriorate as I moved from village to city & pollution increase. My campus lies within the city but even then, I don't hear any traffic sound & it's such a relief to rest among the greenery with an opportunity to listen to the bird's chirp in the morning to moments in the evening when the clouds play among the sky.

Being a photographer, the beauty lying all along the campus always fascinates me. But there have been moments when the weather changes so frequently & the whole place gets covered in clouds including the classes. These moments made us cherish the beauty of nature & also understand why protecting them is crucial. Each evening if you look toward the horizon for the sunset, you will see one of the most beautiful sunsets you have ever seen. Although it has been a year for me seeing them, I am still in awe each day, like it's the first time I am seeing them.

Also, this place gets a lot of rain during monsoon; it may happen that it will rain for days & you will not be able to get sunlight during those days. We get to see various seasons in full force except for the summer & it's such a beauty. Everything in this campus for me is like the first time. I have never been to a place before full of nature & life before and the peace & tranquillity offered here is one of the best.

I love playing sports, but Shillong gets a lot of rain & wind all throughout the year, so its difficult to many times. But we as a batch try to use all the time we can get, either through Volleyball or Badminton or Cricket. Sports bring together a lot of people & I know all my batchmates as well as seniors.

Which ABG Company would you want to work & Why?

I would like to work for Hindalco Industries because I first got a chance to visit Hindalco Renukoot plant when I was a child & it made a deep impression on me for the work done by the company for its employees. Also, I heard a lot of stories about the culture embedded in the company of taking all along with the company which helped it grow.
