During 2 months of internship at Servify, I was exposed to various facets of product management and it gave me a holistic idea of the Warranty solutions business model the company operates in. I understood the founder’s reasons & visions for starting the company. The company has enormous potential for growth both in domestic and global market (Market size of $40B) for electronics, appliances & smartphones.

Service sector forms a very important positioning element for any Brand & in today’s consumer centric world, brands that deliver substandard service can soon be history. Servify’s vision of tapping into the existing gap in this sector can be a boon for customers seeking flawless after sales service experience. Servify, with partner for over 45 top brands, 740 million devices on the platform, and supported by over 6,000 service partners in the network, is poised for success under the leadership of Sreevathsa P.

Learnings: My project dealt with understanding, documenting and giving suggestions & scope of improvement for Warranty solution for a specific mobile brand.

Apart from the above mentioned project report, I also worked on preparing a sales pitch for a leading FMCG company, comprehensive check list for before go live & after go live w.r.t various departments involved and pricing structure for implementing Warranty Solution.

Preparation Strategy/Tips to crack the interview: Research about the company before the interview from their website, the business they are into, leadership team etc. Be genuine, tell them about your areas of interest where you want to work in, how you can help the company achieve something with you knowledge and experience.  It would be of additional help if you are enthusiastic about career in after sales service. It would be better to know the concept rather than know the technical jargons. Any previous experience in a start-up would definitely help.

Advice for Juniors

  • Dont lie.
  • Expect ambiguity.
  • Set high standards.
  • Ask for help.
  • Learn fast.
  • Give your best.
  • Be regular to office.
  • Empathy towards people around you.
  • Never do bitching about your colleagues.
  • Utilise time wisely.
  • Avoid relationships during your internship - people are noticing you.
  • Always be open to learning irrespective of source.
  • Develop a problem solving approach.
  • Ask the right questions instead of asking purely to impress people.
  • Give insights on what you are working on.
  • Keep things simple.
