It has been twelve days since I joined IIM Kashipur and let me tell you that this institute provides everything that is necessary for the holistic development of a management student. IIM Kashipur started its operations from July 2011. This Institute aims at providing quality management education and drives the students to excel in the commercial world along with their peers.
The campus of IIM Kashipur is unique because:
- Location: The campus of IIM Kashipur is located near to the Rudrapur Industrial area which facilitates the interaction between the students and the industrial stalwarts. There are industry visits and live projects which help the students to come to terms with the current practices of the various industries.
- Infrastructure: The sports facilities at IIM Kashipur are very good. It acts as a stress buster for the students. Basic facilities to play basketball, football and volleyball are available at the campus. The library in the campus is well equipped to cater to the various needs of the students.
- Diversity: IIM Kashipur hosts students from all over India. This makes learning all the more interesting for the students. The students having different cultural and professional background bring different perspectives to the problems being solved in the classroom.
- Student Activities: There are different clubs and committees run by the students of the campus. The students put into practice the various things that they have learnt in the classrooms by organising various events for the respective clubs and committees.
In May 2018, I got admission offer letters from IIM Kashipur, IIM Rohtak and IIM Raipur. It was very easy for me to choose IIM Kashipur because I am very much interested in Operations Management. IIM Kashipur being closer to the industrial belt provides a great opportunity for the Operations enthusiasts to learn the nitty gritty of the industries. Mention can also be made of the various live projects which can help students to improve their managerial skills. The fully functional permanent campus of IIM Kashipur also attracted me towards it.

I would like to work at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. Madura Fashion & Lifestyle and Pantaloons Fashion and Retail were merged to form Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. India’s young population and robust economic growth are the engines for the fashion and lifestyle market. This market is bound to grow. Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd is competing with Future Lifestyle Fashions Ltd (FLFL) for the significant pie of this market. The rising demand for fast fashion among millennials will help shape the leaderboard in the apparel business. Moreover, I want to know about the back-end operations of the company.
