IIM Indore Placement Committee

Spread over 78 ha of area IIM Indore is a campus in close connection with nature. It is located in the outskirts of Indore in Rau free from the hustle and bustle of the city. The air here is as fresh to relieve you from the stress of the curriculum. The campus is located over a mountain which adds a silver lining to its beauty. Apart from general academic pedagogy my campus also provides other arenas where a student can learn skills and experience which make them a better person in society. Those programs include Rural Immersion Program and Himalayan Outbound Program.

In Rural Immersion Program student are required to visit a village and audit the condition of government programs operating. We also get the opportunity to give a close look to the rural life, their lifestyle and temperament. It is a way to sensitize us to the situations of villages in India and contribute our bit to develop the same. Having chat with children there is exhilarating but at the same time bit inconceivable. The program made me realize that those who have a platform to achieve should make the most of it and help others who don’t have access to it.

Himalayan Outbound Program is a five days trek program offered as a credit course where students are required to showcase their endurance and leadership skills. It’s a mix of enjoyment with a friend and discovering the inner self at rough situations.

So my campus provides me with the opportunity to discover myself not only from academics point of view but from an overall societal view.

A MEMORABLE CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE

I had Organization Behavior in my 3rd term of which I remember all the twenty sessions. Professor Gopal Mahapatra was the instructor of the course and his teaching style made the class engaging. In every class, I felt positivity in his outlook which helped me to take the most out of the course. His class was a blend of theory and activities and I learnt the importance of being positive and happy in your life through that course.

INTRODUCING SOME CRAZY BATCHMATES

Shyam: From his outlook, no one can guess the genius he is. From devising a business strategy to developing long lasting relation relationship with anyone. He excels in all.

Sanchit: We call him the God (One who knows everything). The reason bring he actually knows everything.

Aditi: She always cares about having fun but when it comes to work, she is really hardworking.

Mousumi: Calm and understand the situation in a holistic way. She is very practical and empathises with situation easily.

WHICH ABG COMPANY I WOULD LIKE TO WORK?

I would like to work at Hindalco, the world’s largest producer of aluminium rolling company and amongst the biggest producer of primary aluminium in Asia. Hindalco is a living tree and its multi-cultural and multi-lingual workforce is spread across fifty location which gives an immense opportunity to learn about different geography. I am interested to enter into an industry which contributes significantly in building infrastructure. Advancement in these sectors would lead to better output and hence better development. Further, its culture of inclusion, respect, appreciation and hierarchy is a testament to the principle of unity in diversity.
