Here is my perspective as a student of IIM Indore.
Situated atop a scenic hillock, the 193 acre campus of IIM Indore provides an ideal backdrop for contemplative learning. IIM Indore has the latest in teaching aids, rich learning resources, a strong IT backbone, state-of-the-art sports complex and hostels as well as contemporary infrastructure.
I am originally from Ranchi and now IIM Indore is my home. From really smart professors to the best of friendships, IIM Indore has embraced me, challenged me and exposes me to new challenges and ideas every day.
Outside of class, I'm the member of the Drama Club - Idanim and also the proud member of the research club. To be an active part of clubs, committees and fests at IIM Indore is a different learning experience which has taught me to handle real-life situations responsibly.
The first year at IIM Indore was nerve-wracking and intense, especially if you are a traveller or avid book reader or have work experience. You don't get time to do anything beyond the curriculum. The carefully planned course pushes you to think beyond textbooks. The Rural immersion program not only gives you an opportunity to travel around Madhya Pradesh's remote villages but also teaches you nuances of rural marketing and problems faced in Rural India. Also, I'm now looking forward to being a part of the Himalayan outbound program(in the second year). Our campus is a separate world in itself - our night mess, large library, sports complex, the festivals we celebrate together, entrepreneurship and club activities, safety and gym is world class. Many might complain that our huge batch strength is a disadvantage, but I feel our batch strength(I'd rather call it diversity) is an added advantage. In the last one year at IIM Indore, I have had the opportunity to talk to many super smart students who were unbelievably the best in various extracurricular activities. It has exposed me to opinions and ways of life which I had never experienced before. The multifaceted intellectual setting at IIM Indore trains you to think efficiently in complex situations. In the third semester, we were given a choice to choose electives which could help in our summers. Our courses are really intensive and, yes, even fun. The "IIM Indore" experience provides you with opportunities that allow you to discover your own path.
