There are a few Indian brands, which every Indian can associate himself with. Aditya Birla Group is one such Indian brand. Whether it be about fabric/clothes, or be about metals and cement, ABG has made a huge impact on our lives. The diversity of this conglomerate could be realised by looking at their active market portfolio in 14 industry sectors. It has provided us with the best of fabrics and clothing options with brands such as Pantaloons, Van Heusen, Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, etc.

If we see our life cycle starting from birth, we are always impacted by ABG. Children require soft clothing for themselves, which are provided by this conglomerate. After we grow a few years, our parents start worrying about our future. There, Birla Life Insurance sub-brands come into effect. We tend to carry smartphones from our teenage, where Idea Cellular Network comes into play. We start going to college and wear formals of brands such as Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, etc. Pantaloons seems to be a favourable shopping hub for every age group. After then, we tend to get married, and build our own houses, where Ultratech Cement plays a major role, along with the Aluminium support provided by Hindalco. ABG led NBFCs will help us in investing and earning profitable margins in the industry. Chemicals industry are also there, which would help us in obtaining any useful chemicals.

I have previously worked in the Aluminium sector, and I would like to relate my work experience with the importance of this brand. I was a part of Research & Development Department of Metallurgical Laboratory at Vedanta, Jharsuguda. A U.S. client has ordered a bulk amount of material from our plant for the first time. Earlier, Hindalco was their finished product supplier, but due to some issues, they had no option but to switch to Vedanta. As the head of Metallurgy section, it was my responsibility to check and validate the quality of the ingot material and the finished product before delivery. Just a week before the final delivery, our calibration standard machine got a breakdown and it stopped working, and we had no clue about the issue. At that point of time, I took the lead and went to our research consulting team sitting in JNARDDC (Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre). I consulted a fellow scientist there and asked for alternatives to the existing process. It required more manual labour than usual. I kept studying about the process thinking I could make it more efficient. But, it turned out that we were using a bad technique approach to perform the analysis. I went back to Jharsuguda and discussed everything with my mentor. He was not willing to change the process as there were certain investments made in terms of machines already. At last, I worked on the process with making some tweaks here and there to effectively carry out the analysis. Our client appreciated the service provided to them, and I was also awarded for providing the result.
