After securing a decent percentile in CAT I was very excited as I was about to start my college life again. I got offers from IIM Shillong, new IIMs, NITIE, SJMSOM and MDI and chose MDI because of its pedagogy, highly esteemed faculty and vibrant Alumni network .MDI is situated in strategic location of Gurgaon surrounded by big brands and this creates opportunity to learn from Industry leaders. This is evident from the fact that during our induction we had about 20 industry leaders came for guest lectures and this gave us opportunity to gain insights on industry practices. B-School life is known for hectic schedules, submission and it is nothing short of a roller coaster ride.
Another dimension to learn is through peer to peer learning. I was amazed by the versatility of people here. It's inspiring to see people acing not only in studies but different activities also such as sports, music etc. One thing that B-school life teaches you is time management. One example of this aspect is currently running intersection tournament. People having tightly scheduled classes, assignments still play for their sections will zeal and vigour. Not only players, people also come to support their teams despite of their hectic schedule. This experience helped me in becoming more dynamic and multitasking.
One thing MDI inculcates in its students is how to manage time and prioritize work. You will have truck loads of assignments in your hands that has to be completed in a limited time frame so this prepares a student to deal with real life business situations where things don’t fall in straight line.

If given opportunity I would want to work with Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) it consists of two of the most prominent names in Indian fashion industry namely Madura Fashion and Life style and Pantaloons. With iconic brand names like Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly and Peter England under its portfolio MF&L has a strong market presence. Pantaloons, on the other hand, offers wide range of products and enjoys a loyal customer base. With the entry of online players there is huge competition in fashion industry but still these companies are successful in maintaining their foothold clearly suggests that business practices at ABG must be of very high standards and I want to be a part of one such team. This will certainly help me in increasing my learning curve.
