The red building of dreams is what the students of this institute call the Faculty of Management Students. And why not. The institution has been a place every student in India aspires to be in at some point in their lives. For those who are lucky enough be actually a part of it, walking through the same hallowed corridors where so many distinguished alumni have set foot is enough to raise goosebumps. However, what truly makes the campus unique is the sense of belonging that it instills in all of its students. The campus is taken care of and run in part by the students along with the distinguished faculty members and this gives it a very homely feel. Being a small campus also has the added benefit that students would know everyone else personally thus iterating the above point further.

A memorable classroom experience in my B School

It has been only a week in the classroom and it is already filled with memorable experiences. I generally try to think about interactions and try to decipher why a particular person would say something and learn from the same. The kind of interactions that faculty here has with its student community is something that left me in awe and has been a pleasant surprise. They are able to read the students mind very effectively along with bringing in a sense of freedom to express oneself while at the same time ensuring that the class decorum and sanctity is maintained.

Introducing some of my crazy batchmates

First, I would like to tell you about Aman Jain, a Kota boy who came to FMS via IT BHU. Being in Varanasi he once had a task of choosing between 3 chits during his engineering practical examination. And in front of everyone, like a kid he starts doing akkad bakkad Bombay bo… leaving everyone around him in shock.

Next up is Roopali Sharma, a huge batman and harry potter fan. She had stayed in Bangalore while working in SAP labs and as it with most people, it was a hub for most of her crazy stories. It all began when she was forced to sing “Raja Raja...” in a pub and she obliged. Little did she know that the pub would record and put up the snippet in their Facebook page for the legendary singing to stay on forever.

Eeshan Anshul is one more interesting person we have in our batch. From completing his mechanical engineering in the leisurely lawns of PESIT, he started working on data in Bangalore itself. He is one of the best trip planners one can find. In most places, the number of people going on the trip keeps decreasing the closer it gets to the day of the trip. In his case for a Kodaikanal trip, they made train reservations of 3 seats for an initial count of 4 people, which increased to 10 on the da of the trip and finally ended up with 14 people reaching Kodaikanal. Kudos to that!

Last but not the least, Vishwas Kumar is another fellow batchmate in my undergrad years and now in post grad. Having worked for 3 years in SRF, Vishwas is a person who always loves to travel and there are very few locations he has left untouched. Regardless of this fact he is always ready to guide everyone enthusiastically on to any new locations

Which ABG company I would like to work for and why

Ultratech is the ABG company that I would like to join. Having worked on the other side of things where one looks at the composition and strength of cement during my undergrad years, I would like to approach a known product from a different perspective. I would like to understand the economies of the entire manufacturing process. Along with that, it would be a pleasure to manage the supply side of things and understand the various considerations and understand the entire supply chain involved. Finally, I would be glad if my knowledge of the industry would help me coordinate with the Research teams of Ultratech better due to my prior knowledge and drive the company to greater heights.
